Diamonds are recurring Items and Objects in The Legend of Zelda series.[1][2][3][4]

Location and Uses

Oracle of Ages

Diamonds are rhomboidal Blocks that appear throughout Labrynna and its Dungeons. When hit with the Switch Hook or Long Hook, they will switch places with Link. They are often used as elements of Switching Puzzles, sometimes to impress Switches into the floor.

Breath of the Wild

Diamonds are rare Materials in Breath of the Wild. Because of their rarity, Diamonds have long been sold for a high price in Hyrule Kingdom.[2] Ramella, the Gerudo in Goron City, may offer to buy Diamonds from Link at a 10% increase of the regular sale price, trading a bulk of 10 Diamonds for 5,500 Rupees instead of the regular total of 5,000.[5] Diamonds can be used as an ingredient for White Dye at the Kochi Dye Shop. If Link uses Diamonds while Cooking, the resulting meal will be Rock-Hard Food.

Link can obtain Diamonds by breaking Ore Deposits and Rare Ore Deposits. They also have a chance to drop after slaying Stone Taluses (Rare), Frost Taluses, Igneo Taluses, or Silver and Golden Enemies. Kairo, the traveling Goron Merchant, will sell Diamonds during unusual weather.[6] The only other place that sells Diamonds is Ore and More in Tarrey Town.

Diamonds can be found inside Treasure Chests in the following Ancient Shrines:

Diamonds may spawn when the following amiibo are scanned used the amiibo Rune:

Several Side Quests offer Diamonds as a reward.[note 1] Link can obtain a Diamond from Pirou by trading him 55 Rushrooms during the "Rushroom Rush!" Side Quest.[12] Ledo will reward Link with two Diamonds for bringing him the 10 Luminous Stones needed to repair Zora's Domain during "Luminous Stone Gathering".[13][14] Afterwards, Ledo will continue to trade Link one Diamond in exchange for 10 Luminous Stones.[15] Three Diamonds are also received from Hudson as a reward for completing "From the Ground Up",[16] which were found while clearing the land for Tarrey Town.[17] Jiahto will pay Link one Diamond in return for helping to archive the Zora legends upon the Stone Monuments scattered around the Lanayru Great Spring as part of the "Zora Stone Monuments" Side Quest.[18] A Diamond is the reward for completing the "Riddles of Hyrule" Side Quest, tasked by Walton in the Korok Forest.[19] Finally, a Diamond is the final reward in the series of requests that Nebb has for Link in Hateno Village as part of "The Weapon Connoisseur" Side Quest,[20] which was entrusted to him by his grandfather.[21]

Diamonds are required for Isha to craft Diamond Circlets at Starlight Memories in Gerudo Town. Diamonds are also necessary to repair the Weapons used by the late Champions, these being Mipha's Lightscale Trident,[22] Revali's Great Eagle Bow,[23] Daruk's Boulder Breaker,[24] and Urbosa's Scimitar of the Seven and Daybreaker.[25][26] These can be repaired by Dento, Harth, Rohan, and Buliara, respectively.

The Diamond is obtained by giving the Coal to the Blacksmith in Great Wimbich. Receiving the Diamond automatically rewards Zelda with 999 Rupees. It is kept in the inventory afterwards, but has no other use.

Cadence of Hyrule

Diamonds are a currency similar to Rupees. They can be used to purchase various Items in shops in the Hyrule. Unlike Rupees, Diamonds will not be lost if the characters get a game over.[27] Diamonds can be obtained by defeating all enemies on a screen,[28] or finding them in dungeons or chests.

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity

In Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity hold a close resemblance to the ones in Breath of the Wild. They can be bought at the store in the Gerudo Desert, or be found in gray treasure chests in main quests. They can be sold to most Merchants for 500 Rupees, but Dayfah will buy them for 1,250 Rupees.
