Location and Uses
Breath of the Wild
Gems are valuable Materials that can be used to upgrade Armor, craft new gear, or be sold at a high price to shops and merchants. Gems are generally found by breaking Ore Deposits, with Rare Ore Deposits more likely to yield rarer varieties. Gems can also sometimes be found inside Treasure Chests, as well as dropped by Stone Taluses, Stone Pebblits, and Silver and Golden Enemies. After Pelison moves to Tarrey Town, he will open a stall there that sells a few Gems at a high price.
Gems are most notably used to purchase and craft accessories at the Starlight Memories shop in Gerudo Town. The respective Gem is also used to upgrade these accessories as well.
After completing the Side Quest "The Jewel Trade", Ramella will offer to buy ten pieces of a randomly chosen Gem at a higher price than at stores.[5]
