Status Reports are a feature in Tri Force Heroes.[1]

Overview

Status Reports are messages that appear on-screen to signify that one of the Links has done a notable action,[1] helping to keep the players alert to each other's actions and status even when they are in different sections of a Level. They appear at a random height at the right edge of the screen, and scroll horizontally until they disappear off the left edge. Many Status Reports include the player's chosen name for their Link, written in a text color matching that Link's tunic.

Status Reports are shown for the following actions:

In a Multiplayer game, Status Reports are also shown automatically when the heroes are low on Hearts,[13][14][15] and when time is running out to select their Materials at the conclusion of a Level.[16] The Status Report "Totem time!" is shown in the colors of two Links when they perform a Totem,[17] and touching a Hero Panel to view another Link's location issues a Status Report that the player is "curious" about the other Link.[18]

Status Reports do not appear in screenshots taken with the Camera, although the Life Gauge, Energy Gauge, total Rupees, and Communication Icons do.

In Drablands Challenges

During certain Drablands Challenges, Status Reports are shown for the following actions:

  • Getting caught by the Wallmaster[19] ("Evade the Wallmaster!")
  • Getting hit by a Volcanic Rock or a falling Snowball[20][21] ("Avoid the volcanic rocks!", "Don't get hit by snowballs!")
  • Breaking the fragile Pot[22] ("Don't drop the pot!")
  • Straying from the Orb[23] ("Guard the Orb!")
  • Popping a Balloon[24][25] ("Don't pop any balloons!")
  • Running low on remaining time[26] ("Clear within the time limit!", "Transport the orb quickly!")

In the Multiplayer Lobby

When the Links gather in the Multiplayer Lobby, Status Reports may appear under the following conditions:

If the Den of Trials is selected, a Status Report will also display the latest starting Zone available to all three Links.[31]

In the Den of Trials

For each consecutive Treasure Chest room the Links reach in the Den of Trials, a new congratulatory Status Report will be shown. These Status Reports will accumulate and reappear at each Treasure Chest room thereafter, eventually covering most of the screen. The messages are as follows:

  1. No message
  2. "Well THAT was unexpected!"
  3. "You're unstoppable, snickerdoodle! ♥"
  4. "Oh!!"
  5. "Again? How?! Tell me, tell me!"
  6. "Unbelievable, dahling!"
  7. "My awe has been inspired!"
  8. "You're legendary, chum! Really!"

The phrasing of the messages suggests that they are coming from Madame Couture. If the Links reach all eight Treasure Chest rooms consecutively, they will also be greeted by a loud round of applause, followed by an audible cheer from Sir Combsly and the Status Report message "Good work, soldier!"
