Biography

Breath of the Wild

Parcy is a Hylian traveler who resides at Riverside Stable. She can be found standing inside the Stable, where she mumbles about the Royal Guard's Series to herself.[4] At night, she sleeps in one of the Stable's Beds.

In the past, Parcy would enter Hyrule Castle in search of the Royal Guard's Series.[5] However, when the Malice and Guardians surrounding the Castle increased, she was forced to stop before she could find any of the Weapons.[5]

When Link approaches to Parcy, she asks if he has ever been to Hyrule Castle.[6] She then explains that she used to enter the Castle in search of the Royal Guard's Series.[5] After she finishes speaking, "The Royal Guard's Gear" Side Quest will begin.

If Link talks to Parcy again, she will ask if he wants advice for entering Hyrule Castle.[7] Should Link agree, she explains that the best methods of entry would be to emulate the different peoples of Hyrule, offering "Goron," "Rito," and "Zora"-inspired ways.[8] When Link asks to hear the Goron way, Parcy shares that it involves charging in through the Hyrule Castle Gate while carrying Food that restores Hearts and Stamina.[9] As part of the Rito style, Parcy suggests that sailing in over the Hyrule Castle Moat via the Elma Knolls to the north.[10] Lastly, if Link asks to hear the Zora style, Parcy points out the Waterfalls that feed into the Hyrule Castle Moat, saying that a strong Swimmer would be able to make it up them.[11]

Link can also ask for different methods of entry, which prompts Parcy to offer the "Gerudo" and "Sheikah" styles.[12] When asked about the Gerudo, Parcy advises Link to charge into Hyrule Castle on a Horse, shooting Arrows at the Guardians' eyes to pass through without being harmed.[13] If Link asks for the Sheikah style, Parcy will inform him that this style is her personal favorite, explaining that there are two ways to enter with this method.[14] The first is to enter through the East Passage, which is marked by the Luminous Stone Deposits at its entrance and leads into Hyrule Castle's Library.[14] The second is by way of entering through the Docks, which also lead into the Library.[14] If Link wishes to enter with his own way, Parcy jokes that he should act like the hero 100 years prior and destroy all of the Guardians along his way.[15] If Link declines Parcy's advice, she will tell him that it is dangerous, and while she does not recommend visiting, he should be prepared if he does.[16]

When Link returns to Parcy with a piece of the Royal Guard's Series, she will recognize it and ask to see it.[17][18][19][20][21] Upon looking it over, she will thank Link for showing it to her.[22] As a reward, Parcy gives him a Gold Rupee.[23] Afterwards, the Side Quest will be completed.

Following the Side Quest, Parcy wonders what other treasures could be hidden within Hyrule Castle.[24] Link can continue to bring pieces of the Royal Guard's Series to Parcy, all of which she recognizes.[25][26][27][28][29] She then asks Link if he would trade it in exchange for a Topaz, Ruby, or Sapphire.[30][31][32] If Link accepts, Parcy will be grateful and give him the promised Gem.[33] If Link declines Parcy's offer, she will be upset and wish she had something better to offer.[34]

Should Link wake Parcy up while she is asleep, she will yell at him for his rude behavior.[35][36] If Link wakes her while he is not wearing any Armor covering his torso, she will call him a creep.[37][38]

Back when it was safer, I went in looking for this ultra-rare equipment that once belonged to the royal guard. It's legendary among collectors, but I was never able to find any..." — Parcy (Breath of the Wild)

  7. "Do you want me to give you some advice on getting into the castle?" — Parcy (Breath of the Wild)
  8. "[Tell me...] The best way to get into Hyrule Castle is to employ the styles of the people of Hyrule, obviously. So what's your style? Goron? Rito? Zora? Or another way?" — Parcy (Breath of the Wild)
  9. "[Goron style!] Right, Goron style. Do this if you have faith in your willpower and strength. The way in is simple and clear. Storm the castle's front gates! The key here is to bring along food that will restore your health and stamina." — Parcy (Breath of the Wild)
  10. "[Rito style!] Rito style? If you're comfortable sailing through the air, this method is for you. Just head east or west from these plains, and swing 'round up the mountain to the north of the castle. Then just fly down toward the castle from there, over the moat, and find a safe spot to land." — Parcy (Breath of the Wild)
  11. "[Zora style!] Ah, Zora style. If you're a strong swimmer who can swim up streams and waterfalls, this is a good option. There's a moat surrounding the castle. It's a little tough to swim through, but there are a few waterfalls still running. Just swim up one of those and you should be able to make it." — Parcy (Breath of the Wild)
  12. "[Another way!] Another way, huh? Gerudo? Sheikah? Or something else?" — Parcy (Breath of the Wild)
  13. "[Gerudo style!] Gerudo style? If you have faith in your courage and technique, this is for you. There are machine-like monsters called Guardians lurking around the castle. Even if they target you with their lasers, don't back down. Just gallop past through the ruins of castle town! It won't be easy, but if you're confident in your archery skills, just aim for the Guardians' eyes. Hitting them in their eyes will stun them long enough for you to slip past unharmed." — Parcy (Breath of the Wild)
  14. 14.0 14.1 14.2 "[Sheikah style!] Sheikah style, eh? This is the method I use. Observe from a distance, and then try to sneak in a back entrance where there aren't many monsters patrolling. ܁I'll tell you about the two entrances I've found. The first one is called East Passage. To find it, cross Helmhead Bridge to the east of the castle, and with the castle on your left, climb up the hill. Look closely and you'll see an entrance to a tunnel in the middle of the castle. The luminous stones near the entrance sparkle at night, making it easy to find. The second entrance is the docks. From the island west of the castle, use the raft near the dock to sail to the north side. You'll find the docks there. Those are the only hidden entrances I know of." — Parcy (Breath of the Wild)
  15. "[My own way!] If you're so confident, you should do it like the legendary hero himself and just crush all the Guardians on your way in. ...Ah, just joking. Heh... I'm just messing with you. Only a fool would try that." — Parcy (Breath of the Wild)
  16. "[Nope, I'm good.] It's deathly dangerous near there so I can't recommend it, but if you're set on going, make sure you're prepared." — Parcy (Breath of the Wild)
  17. "Wait just a minute! Can you show me that bow you've got there?!" — Parcy (Breath of the Wild)
  18. "Wait just a minute! Can you show me that big sword you've got there?!" — Parcy (Breath of the Wild)

  22. "This is...incredible. Thank you. You have shown me something truly spectacular. I need to go out and find one of these myself." — Parcy (Breath of the Wild)
  23. "Here's a token of my appreciation." — Parcy (Breath of the Wild)
