Features and Overview
Hateno Village is populated by Hylians. The village is located in East Necluda and sits due east of Hateno Tower. The Myahm Agana Shrine is located in the village and the Hateno Ancient Tech Lab overlooks the village from a large hill to the east. The peaceful village contains an Inn and a few shops, including the East Winds general store, an armor shop and the dye shop. The environment is decorated by two large working windmills, several blue flame lamps and several Apple trees.

The Great Ton Pu Inn
During the BotW 100 years ago, BotW was the larger of only two BotW settlements to remain. Its survival is owed largely to the successful defense effort at BotW, as well as the awakening of BotW's sealing powers on BotW. Following the , the BotW began in BotW, wherein the destruction of BotW left unable to farm. Eventually, the BotW was able to recover, and BotW became self-sufficient. The villagers primarily make their living through agriculture, and most BotW have either a field or a ranch of some kind. clothes is also a traditional craft of the village.<ref>{{Cite|BotW Blue is a tradition craft of Hateno Village. East Winds is a General Goods store. Pruce is the shopkeeper there.<ref>{{Cite|Well you can just call me Pruce. Hateno Village is a recurring location in The Legend of Zelda series.[1][2][3]

Features and Overview

Breath of the Wild

Hateno Village is a permanent Hylian settlement located in East Necluda. It is rumored to be the hometown of Link.[4] The Myahm Agana Shrine is located on the southern end of the Village, next to Bolson Construction's model homes.[5] To the east, the Hateno Ancient Tech Lab overlooks the Village, and pathways to Hateno Beach and Hateno Bay can be found nearby. The peaceful Village contains an Inn and a few shops, including the East Wind, the Ventest Clothing Boutique, and the Kochi Dye Shop. A total of three Silos can be found throughout the town, two of which have had windmills attached in order to grind flour.[6] Blue Flame Pedestals also dot the landscape, and Hateno's Goddess Statue can be found at the Village Chief's House.

During the Great Calamity 100 years ago, Hateno Village was the larger of only two Hylian settlements to remain.[7] Its survival is owed largely to the successful defense effort at Fort Hateno, as well as the awakening of Zelda's sealing powers on Blatchery Plain.[8][9] Following the Calamity, the Age of Burning Fields began in Hateno Village, wherein the destruction of Necluda left Hateno unable to farm.[10] Eventually, the Region was able to recover, and Hateno Village became self-sufficient.[11] Purah also founded the Hateno Ancient Tech Lab nearby, due to the source of Ancient Energy discovered on the High Ground.[12][13]

Since it is located so close to Mount Lanayru, Hateno Village has a chilly environment, and most residents wear long sleeves as a result.[14] The villagers primarily make their living through agriculture, and most Houses have either a field or a ranch of some kind.[8] Dyeing clothes is also a traditional craft of the village.[15][16] Though Hateno Village is relatively peaceful when compared to the rest of Hyrule, travelers such as Celessa note that it feels precarious.[17][18]

As part of the "Locked Mementos" Main Quest, Link is sent to the Hateno Ancient Tech Lab in Hateno Village to repair his Sheikah Slate.[19] Two Shrine Quests, "The Spring of Wisdom" and "Secret of the Cedars", can be started by speaking to residents of Hateno Village.[20][21] A total of six Side Quests can be obtained throughout Hateno, these being "Hylian Homeowner" at Link's House,[22] "From the Ground Up" at Link's House,[23] "The Statue's Bargain" at Firly Pond,[24] "The Weapon Connoisseur",[25] "A Gift for My Beloved" at The Great Ton Pu Inn,[26] and "The Sheep Rustlers" at Hateno Pasture.[27] Two additional Side Quests, "Slated for Upgrades" and "Sunshroom Sensing", are available at the Hateno Ancient Tech Lab.[28][29]

Hateno Village reappears in Tears of the Kingdom. A variety of large Mushrooms decorations are now spread across the village, and many residents wear similar clothing and hats. Cece introduced the mushroom fashion to the village, making it a popular destination for fashion-inclined people across Hyrule.[30]

In the time between games, Zelda had Bolson build the Hateno School for the children of Hateno Village,[31] with Symin as the teacher.[32] She also moved into Link's House.[33] The children affectionately refer to her as "Ms. Zelda".[34]
