"The Statue's Bargain" is a Side Quest in Breath of the Wild.[1]
Overview
Along the path from Hateno Village to Firly Pond, Link can find the Horned Statue. Upon praying to him, the Horned Statue will remark that there are still some who pay homage to him.[2] Realizing that Link is able to hear him,[3] the Horned Statue will explain that he was oncer a dealer in "life and power".[4] However, Hylia did not like what the Horned Statue was doing, so she trapped him in a stone statue.[5] The Horned Statue was then discarded by the Hylians, and now very few pay him any mind.[6]
Despite the years of ignorance, the Horned Statue is still willing to deal in life and money.[7] He asks Link if he would like to strike a bargain.[8] Before Link can answer, though, the Horned Statue takes away a Heart Container from Link.[9] With this, the Side Quest begins.
Link demands that he gives him the Heart Container back, but he and asks Link if he thought he was deceived.[10] The Horned Statue then explains that Link can take the Heart Container back or that he can trade it for a Stamina Vessel.[11] When Link chooses one to receive, the Horned Statue will tell him to remain still.[12] He grants Link his Heart Container or Stamina Vessel.
The Horned Statue notes Link's skepticism and tells him not to worry, since he sees money and life as the same thing.[13] From this point on, Link can sell a Heart Container or Stamina Vessel to the Horned Statue for 100 Rupees.[14] However, buying it back will cost 120 Rupees,[15] though he can choose which one he receives.[16] The Horned Statue invites Link to come back to trade any time,[17] which completes the Side Quest.
