Zonai Relic
The Zonai Relic is an Object in Tears of the Kingdom.[1]
Location and Uses
During the "Mineru's Counsel" and the "Critical Decisions" Memories, the Zonai Relic can be seen in the possession of Mineru in the distant past. In the present, the Zonai Relic can be found inside a chamber on Dragonhead Island. The doors to this chamber cannot be opened unless Link has at least 10 Heart Containers, though it can be accessed by using Ascend from a platform below.
When Link interacts with the Relic, a green light will shoot out of it, and he will hear the voice of Mineru telling him to follow it.[2] However, if Link has not yet received the "Regional Phenomena" Main Quest from Purah after activating the Lookout Landing Skyview Tower, the Zonai Relic will not activate, as Link senses "that the time is not yet right to be here".[3]
The Zonai Relic can be attached to other Objects using Ultrahand, and has a special property in that if it is attached to a Wing, the Wing will last 30 seconds longer before expiring, presumably to allow Link more time to reach the light's end at Tobio's Hollow. This property carries over to designs saved with Autobuild even when they are recreated using Zonaite.
Upon bringing the Zonai Relic to Tobio's Hollow, the entrance to the Tobio's Hollow Chasm will be opened, which carries Link and the Zonai Relic directly to the entrance of the Construct Factory.[4] There, he can place the Zonai Relic inside the mold for Mineru's Construct, serving as its head.
Trivia
- The Zonai Relic is similar to, though not the same as, the helm worn by Mineru in her original Zonai form.
- The head bears resemblance to an Owl, and also leads towards a Zonai Statue of an Owl at Tobio's Hollow. The Zonai used Owls to represent the Triforce of Wisdom.[5]
