It's still messing up
Someone fix it. It's doing the going to the refresh page when you save changes.
It submits, but doesn't redirect back to the article.

I think both might be intertwined. As they both occur at the same time.
It either disappears... or people have access, but it's very glitchy.

- That's something in the preferences. You can get rid of that by going into your preferences, clicking on "misc", and then unchecking "Enable "jump to" accessibility links".

Wanted Pages
One of the contributing factors to these WANTED pages is the fact that people obviously do not know how to link to other users. When you want to link to another user, follow this syntax:
Wrong: [[Name]]

Nice idea Jason. Two suggestions: What's with the name "The Zelda Effect"? Sounds a little corny. Why not just use "Zelda Wiki" or something more descriptive? Zeldawiki.com seems to be available as well. And if you wanna go all the way, go with .ORG instead ;)--Lars 14:47, 13 September 2006 (GMT)
The Zelda Effect's Name and Stuff
I'll bite, lars :P... here's the answers. It'sc alled The Zelda Effect because that's the name of my blog, and I wanted to move it away from being called the Zelda Universe Wiki, since it was becoming what it is now. The name is subject to change, though I had plans to keep it because I liked the "Effect" part - instead of "Domino" Effect, it becomes the "Zelda" Effect, the effect that brings all the sites together eventually through word of mouth and stuff. I was going to buy zeldawiki.com, and make this that, but I had changed my mind sort of in the middle, since zeldawiki.com didn't match the name. .org is also a nice idea, though I'm not sure whether to do it or not. It is, however, an organization, so it would make sense.
I'll discuss it with some people - but with zeldawiki.org, what would it be called? Just zeldawiki.org? :P I suppose. --Jase 19:44, 13 September 2006 (GMT)

- You were close. Profound (defining from the top of my head) means great, or something of greatness. It is an adjective, so something cannot be "profound in others" (which would make it a verb). Looks great. Maybe a bit dark, but definitely better than default. I think the "Jump to" thing should be culled, though; the two things it links to are both immediately visible regardless of screen resolution, so it's not really going anywhere. Garrett 18:24, 7 November 2006 (CST)
- To tell the truth, I don't know how to get rid of them. I've been wondering how to get rid of it since we upgraded to version 1.6 back when the wiki was still on ZU. - This doesn't require server access; you can just add it to MediaWiki:Monobook.css using your sysop privelages. That page can override anything in the skin CSS. Garrett 18:06, 9 November 2006 (CST)

TP Release Date
Well we have a slight discrepancy about the release dates. The Twilight Princess page shows the GC release date to be Dec. 13th but this page says it will be Dec. 15th. IGN and GameSpy say it will be the 11th of Dec. And then there is Gamespot that says Dec. 13th. So anyone know for sure? --Gambit8585

Temporary Advertisements
Question 1. Will this effect on your computer effect this site? Question 2. Will you name the people that actually donate? Question 3. How exactly do the adds work? Is the value subtracted from the amount you have to pay to run the wiki?--Herbsewell 17:40, 4 January 2007 (CST)
- 1: Yes, because I do work for the site on that computer. Existing projects were also lost. Also, because I am a minor (and jobless), my parents are the ones actually paying the bills for the site. If I don't earn the money myself to pay for the recovery, the money that pays for the site is taken away. It's kind of like a deal.
- 2: Not sure. We'll see what happens if someone actually donates!
- 3: People click the ads, I make a small amount of money per click, and as soon as I reach $100 or more Google sends me a check at the end of the month. If I don't earn $100 the first month, the money rolls over into the next month, and so on and so forth until I accumulate at least $100. That check can go towards wherever I choose to make it go, but it really goes to paying for the computer's repair. This is why I chose to use ads instead of donations, because the cause is not directly related to the site, only a "secondary" relationship. That is, the computer takes priority, but not having it effects how the site will run and possibly whether or not it stays up. It's slightly selfish to ask for donations, considering it doesn't go directly to the site. again, that is why I chose an ad banner.

- Yes, I can. If I was running the site to make a profit, I would have put ads on here a long time ago. However, I don't have this site to make money. I can say so far that this site has made roughly ten dollars since starting the ads. I can imagine the place pulling about $60 per month, which is more than enough to pay for the hosting, but not enough to cover the costs of repair. However, the price for repair has now been significantly reduced considering I was able to recover one of my hard drives on my own by buying a $50 peripheral. The cost of recovery is now about $350 - which is very, very nice. So the ad won't be sticking around for more than a couple months, maybe even less, unless there's some sort of outcry for the site to make a profit. --Jase 16:09, 6 January 2007 (CST)
I thought I might add this. My computer, at the time, also failed at the same time Jason's did. But at the time I was not even aware of the existence of this site. Luckly for me, only the motherboard failed. My hardrive survived. But in the past, I have had total failures. So, Jason, I know how it feels. It's a royal pain. Are you back up to speed now? Necessary?
Is a page like this still necessary since the Wiki no longer gives updates in this fashion, and these updates date back 3 years ago when the site was still officially the Zelda Universe Wiki. Mases 06:52, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

- We know that many of our users navigate by hitting random page.
- These are very small and out of sync with the newer way to archive News and Announcements.
- We won't allow them to be expanded upon
