Weapon Trait
Weapon Traits are a mechanic in Tears of the Kingdom.[1]
Overview
Weapon Traits are special passive abilities that certain Weapons in a series have. In addition to being highlighted in the Weapon's description, they can also be seen under the icon when switching in the quick menu. Weapon Traits only appear on melee weapons, not Shields or Bows. Weapon Traits are only applied to base weapons, and not any attached to the end of another with Fuse.
Weapon Trait | Zonaite-Powered |
---|---|
Description | It resonates with attached Zonai devices to slightly increase its attack power. |
Corresponding Weapons | |
Properties | Using Fuse to attach Zonai Objects grants extra attack power in addition to the fusion bonus. The amount of extra attack depends on the "tier" of the weapon: +3 for normal Zonaite weapons, +5 for Strong Zonaite weapons, and +10 for Mighty Zonaite weapons.[a]
|
Weapon Trait | Extra Durable |
Description | It has high durability. |
Corresponding Weapons | |
Properties | This trait merely serves as an indicator that these weapons have higher Durability than their non-Sturdy counterparts. |
Weapon Trait | Wind Burst |
Description | It produces a strong wind. |
Corresponding Weapons | |
Properties | The weapon blows a gust of wind when used that can knock over enemies, move objects, etc. similar to Korok Fronds or "Guster" fusions. |
Weapon Trait | Quick Charge |
Description | It enables quicker charged attacks. |
Corresponding Weapons | |
Properties | Charging an attack with the Stamina Wheel happens twice as fast. |
Weapon Trait | Charge Atk. Stamina Up |
Description | It consumes less stamina during charge attacks. |
Corresponding Weapons | |
Properties | Charging an attack with the Stamina Wheel consumes half as much stamina. Same as the Set Bonus from the Fierce Deity and Barbarian Sets. |
Weapon Trait | Desperate Strength |
Description | It can yield powerful attacks when you're down to your last heart. |
Corresponding Weapons | |
Properties | When Link's health is at one heart or below, the weapon will deal double damage (including any fusions). This stacks with other damage multipliers and/or Attack Up effects. |
Weapon Trait | Improved Flurry Rush |
Description | It yields a powerful flurry rush during a perfect dodge. |
Corresponding Weapons | |
Properties | When Link is attacking during a Flurry Rush, the weapon will deal double damage (including any fusions). This stacks with other damage multipliers and/or Attack Up effects. |
Weapon Trait | Breaking Point |
Description | It yields massive destructive power just before it breaks. |
Corresponding Weapons | |
Properties | When the weapon has less than 4 Durability (i.e., after the "badly damaged" message), it will deal double damage (including any fusions). This stacks with other damage multipliers and/or Attack Up effects. Attacks that do not consume Durability, such as when mounted on a Lynel, will still deal the extra damage and retain the property, including the additional x2 bonus when the Weapon has 1 durability and is about to break. |
Weapon Trait | Water Warrior |
Description | It yields a high attack power when it gets wet. |
Corresponding Weapons | |
Properties | The weapon, including fused attachments, deals double damage when Link is wet. This stacks with other damage multipliers and/or Attack Up effects. |
Weapon Trait | Demolisher |
Description | It is great for breaking rocks. |
Corresponding Weapons | |
Properties | The weapon does 1.5x damage to rock enemies and obstacles (e.g. Stone Talus and Frox weak points, Stone Pebblits, Ore Deposits and Cracked Walls. While the Gloom Club has this trait, only its Gloom Toll trait is shown in-game. |
Weapon Trait | Strong Fusion |
Description | Attaching a material greatly enhances the material's power but doesn't add as much durability. |
Corresponding Weapons | |
Properties | The Fuse Attack Power of items attached with Fuse is doubled (e.g. fusing a Silver Lynel Saber Horn with 55 attack power instead adds 110 on top of the base damage). However, the weapon only receives 5 additional Durability from fusions instead of most weapons' 25, with the exception of the Scimitar of the Seven. |
Weapon Trait | Fuse Recycling |
Description | Bursting materials attached to the tip can be reused again and again. |
Corresponding Weapons | |
Properties |
Certain items attached with Fuse that would normally burst after one hit can keep being used with their special effects. Compatible attachments include: |
Weapon Trait | Gloom Toll |

Corresponding Weapons | |
Properties | |

Corresponding Weapons | |
Properties | Damage during a Sneakstrike is doubled compounding with the inherent 8x multiplier. |
Weapon Trait | Wind Razor |
Description | When wielded by a proficient fighter, it cleaves wind and creates a vacuum. |
Corresponding Weapons | |
Properties | When swung the sword emits a beam of wind that can knock back enemies and deal 10 additional damage. If fused with an elemental item, the beam will gain its properties. |
Weapon Trait | Revitalized Sword of Legend |
Description | The blade gleams with a sacred luster that can oppose the Demon King. |
Corresponding Weapons | |
Properties | The effect of this trait is the Master Sword's powering up near Gloom. While it normally does 30 base damage, it will glow and deal 45 in the presence of Gloom or Gloom-infused enemies, and 60 against Phantom Ganon or Demon King Ganondorf. If in the second condition, it will also not consume Durability. The version of the Master Sword in the opening also technically has this trait. |
