Name Change

Can someone change my account's name to Vincent? Swiftblade is my childish counterpart that has been thrown aside and it is an insult to be referred to as such. Thank you.--Vincent 09:51, 12 March 2011 (EST)

Yes, that can be done, but only by a bureaucrat, and that's quite a witty explanation as to why. Also, for future reference, please keep inappropriate language on your userpage only. Uploading files with derogatory language in the filename and the summary is not cool on a wiki that prides itself in being family-friendly, regardless if the terms are Internet-accepted 4chan memes. Thanks, and make sure to let a bureaucrat know of your name change request! :) — ciprianotalk 14:04, 12 March 2011 (EST)
You sir, do not understand the logic behind the rank names. Anonymous in general refers to oneself as a fag. Not being the derogatory term for a homosexual person, but rather... it's another word for person in general, no matter the sexual orientation, with no harmful intent. The edit that you made to my caption makes it sound like Engrish. Allow me to explain, a newfag is a user that just joined and is learning the ropes. An oldfag is a seasoned veteran that knows the ifs, whens, and buts of the community. It can also be used in context for other types of users. For example, a person that only participates in the summer would be referred to as a summerfag. A person that constantly talks about gaia is called a gaiafag, and so-fourth. So in conclusion, I request that you change the caption back to its original state so that it actually makes sense.--Vincent 16:29, 12 March 2011 (EST)
Sadly, regardless of intention, the word itself is in fact derogatory and inappropriate. Zelda Wiki is not Encyclopedia Dramatica or 4chan, were words and memes like that are commonplace, we are a wiki that is viewed by adults, grandmothers, children, and all walks of life. By using these words, you do not know who you are going to offend, so we choose to bar them entirely. I understood the meaning of the terms (before your explanantion), but because they include a derogatory word, please refrain from using them here. Because of this, and current wiki policy, the file summary and the link will not be changed back to the original. Thanks! — ciprianotalk 12:41, 13 March 2011 (EDT)
Very well then. Please do me the favor of removing the caption entirely.--Vincent 17:50, 13 March 2011 (EDT)
Thanks for understanding! We've had a few users in the past that have flaunced (more ED lol) after we brought up one small thing... we never saw them again. I hope to see you around the wiki :) — ciprianotalk 18:13, 13 March 2011 (EDT)
If you read my page, you'd see that I've been around the Zelda online community for a long time, and I'm not going anywhere. :p I may be a bit rough around the edges, but they say I'm the type of troll we need. --Vincent 18:22, 13 March 2011 (EDT)

Images

Hi. Please could you avoid replacing existing images such as the ones you've edited today? Non-copyrighted images such as the Windows and Firefox logo have been specifically chosen to avoid infringing copyright laws of major corporations like Microsoft, so replacing them with the original copyrighted versions is counter-productive. Also, once you do that the original source and copyright templates on the image become invalid. Replacing images with new versions should normally only be done for improved versions of the same image, where it can continue to be used in the same context on all pages. If you believe you have an image which should replace an existing one, please upload as a different file and suggest the change on the relevant talk page. Thanks! Ok, ok

Don't keep editing your page to up your ZD post count one by one, you are clogging up the recent changes page. We have to look over every single edit made here and check them off as having been review. Often times we even need to make corrections or changes. Having so many edits of +1 posts, is pretty much spamming here. In all honesty, it's not likely to be interesting to anyone else ;) Axiomist (talk) 00:42, 30 June 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

It's a useless statistic that should not even be included. Ever. --Xizor 09:19, 3 July 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

About Zelda Legacy

In the Zelda Legacy discussion page, you said that you were/are a webmaster. I was wondering, that as a Zelda Legacy Webmaster, you could provide the page some missing information. The website has apparently ceased to function, and as a webmaster, I assume you'd know why. If the Legacy is over and done with maybe you could write some final words, like a eulogy. I think that Zelda Legacy deserves some sort of closure and you are in a better position to do it as a Webmaster, active or former. If not, a short status update would be nice. --TheCritic 15:04, 5 May 2011 (EDT)

Unfortunately, I have fallen out of contact with the owner, as did everyone else. I do know of a possible way to contact him though. If I can't, I do know why the site was closed, so I suppose I could write a little something up.
