Mulitple Edit

Why don't you just make a template like ? -- կրակ (խոսել) -- 04:39, 17 February 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

We have a preview template here.Mandi Talk 04:47, February 17, 2010 (UTC)

WikiExclusive Idea

Hay, can you do me a favor? I didn't know who to give this to. My page is here. It was ment to be a rough draft for a forum, but Cipriano 119 nominated/sugested that I give this to a sysop to make it a WikiExclusive. Please review it and tell me whether it is good or not.-- կրակ (խոսել) -- 03:35, 25 February 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Yeah, it seems like you contacted Mases about this and he'salready brought it up in our staff forums. So, it's already been "submitted" so-to-speak! :P Mandi Talk 15:22, February 25, 2010 (UTC)

Spellings

Quick question. British or American spellings?

Regards, ShadowBroker44 00:05, 25 February 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

See here. It's American.Emma (Talk) 00:24, February 25, 2010 (UTC)
Yup. We use the American spellings in articles.Mandi Talk 00:34, February 25, 2010 (UTC)

Article Standards

Many Featured Article like Link and Princess Zelda have the See also section with a lowercase "a", shouldn't we standarized articles with the Featured Article as model? Jeangabin 20:53, 27 February 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

No. Featured Articles are not exactly definite models to mold all others to. If a Featured Article has something not comforming to the quality standards then that should be fixed. No article, featured or not, in the or namespaces are above these standards, other namespaces it doesn't really matter. And anything that has the old <seealso> tag, which is very buggy, should be converted to plain formatting or the See Also Template. --Emma (Talk) 21:38, February 27, 2010 (UTC)
Pretty much what Matt said. And as time passes, articles such as the Link and Princess Zelda articles were nominated a...long time ago. So, they've since been edited a lot and considering the article size, it's easy for a mistake to slip through. So, no; featured articles aren't exactly a "standard" to set other articles after.Mandi Talk 22:53, February 27, 2010 (UTC)

Could you sign your posts with ~~~~? And fan art isn't allowed in articles, sir. So, that would be the reason Ganondorfdude keeps removing it! ;P Mandi Talk 00:35, March 4, 2010 (UTC)

King Gustaf

Mandi, I placed the information under a theory tag and near the bottom of the page, with quotes and all. You removed the information without real reason, and I am requesting that you restore it because it meets the requirements for mentioning in an article. I understand you do not like edit-warring, but this was not really an edit war so much as a difference of opinions. I am respectfully asking that my discovery be restored before seeking further action. There have been many other instances where such discoveries have been mentioned on pages given they meet the requirements, and this is no different. So before we involve anyone else, I would like to ask you to restore the information as I last had it, proper placement and tags included. Link87 19:28, 14 April 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Your information was nothing more than a theory. ZW.org is not the place to dump theories. I will not hesitate to repeat this as many times as necessary for you to comprehend it, considering your history and love of circular arguments. :)Mandi Talk 19:32, April 14, 2010 (UTC)
This was not a theory and you know it. It was under a tag what's more if you even cared to look at it. But then again you've always acted before thinking or reasoning. I had everything there if you'd kindly go back and look. This is not a theory, this is merely pointing out fallacies in a theory. I am once again asking that it be restored, as there are numerous other pages that make note of such things. ZW.org is a place for Zelda information, and this is valid information that can potentially help fans in formulation of their theories. I would hope that someone like you could understand that by this point. And if you are not willing to negotiate a compromise here, then I will be taking the matter to more unbiased staffers that will. I would prefer that we come to a compromise without going that far however to avoid creating tensions between yourself and me. Link87 19:40, 14 April 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Stop throwing a fit, please? We're going to reword and repost the information. It is a theory, it will be identified as such. Mandi Talk 19:47, April 14, 2010 (UTC)
THANK YOU! I'm glad you're able to see reason here. The quotes are not a theory, but the general outline can perhaps fall under speculation. I am not unreasonable, and I'm glad to see that you're willing to see reason as well here. I will be watching to see the information's restoration. Link87 19:51, 14 April 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

*Insert Unnecessary Nerd Rage*

I'm not trying to instigate anything, but can I ask why you deleted RippedZero.png back in January? - TonyT S C 08:36, 18 April 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Hm... I can't really remember what it was but the reason I deleted it was that it was tagged with Delete. If it was something you were using I can restore it.Mandi Talk 13:04, April 18, 2010 (UTC)
I was just using it as an image for my user page. If it's too much of a hassle or it serves as a detriment to the server, it's fine as-is. - TonyT S C 17:55, 18 April 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Naw, it's not hurting anything. It was just in the unused images category somehow and someone flagged it for delete. It's been restored.Mandi Talk 17:59, April 18, 2010 (UTC)
Oh. Thank you, then. - TonyT S C 18:24, 18 April 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Eiji Aonuma

Mandi, to avoid further conflict, I am asking that you please quit removing any question to such statements on the page. I have been willing to negotiate with Nerushi to include the information on the page, provided it's made clear there are those that question the assertion and why. We did that for King Gustaf, and everyone was good with that then. Why not now if I may ask? I'm willing to include the information on the page provided it's made clear there are those that do in fact question it. Is there anything wrong with that? Link87 18:17, 25 April 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Fill me in?

I'm a little bit worried about that message you sent me. Could you respond to it ASAP? I need to know what's going on, and I won't be able to use Skype again until we get a new router, because the one we have is broken. So please respond as soon as you can.User:Justin ZW/sig 20:49, 26 April 2010 (UTC)

Category deletion

Not too long ago, I asked Justin about a category that used to have only two articles in it. It's the Hidden Skills Category. It used to have the articles regarding the special sword techniques learned in Twilight Princess, hence why it was created; however, when the HS articles were merged in one, it stopped being useful. Justin agreed that the category had to be deleted, and since then the mere two articles categorized in there (the aforementioned Hidded Skill and Spin Attack) had it removed in later edits. Now it's flagged for deletion, and now it's expecting the veredict of an administrator (or more) to determine its fate. Seeing as Justin himself is taking a break now, and no other admin is online by the moment I wrote this, I thought I could ask for your assistance here. Sorry. --K2L 15:24, 2 June 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Yeah, that page definitely needed to be deleted. Thanks for the heads up!Mandi Talk 15:32, June 2, 2010 (UTC)

Question

Hi, I have yet another question (sorry): Is it possible to merge an article with a category? It sounds like a dumb question, but I started having this doubt after I tried to tag this article to propose a merge of it with this category. It never worked. Even if I wrote the category page correctly when writing Category:Trade Sequences, I saw only a bloody-red link. I repeat, I first wanted to ask users for their opinion on the merge, and I couldn't even do that. The proposal itself is because of this: The article lists the trading sequences in the TLOZ series, but . . . . isn't that a job for the category? --K2L 02:01, 7 June 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Hey, dude. Asking questions is fine, don't be sorry :P Yeah, that gave you a red link because we really don't.. I really can't remember ever merging an article into a category. So, since it wasn't really needed, we never coded the templates as such.. hence why you got a red link.Mandi Talk 05:34, June 7, 2010 (UTC)
I see, then I'll see what content I can add to the article in order to save it from ...... deletion? But that'll be when sun rises, since it's already 1:18 am where I live =). --K2L 05:48, 7 June 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Well it does more than just a category. And we have have other listings. It's really simple to answer. Just add some brief explanations to each sequence. A lot of them have something unique about them. And of course a larger explanation of what they all have in common. The first thing you do when you see a small article is try to expand it, not merge it. I'm sure there's even more than what I mentioned that could be added to it.
Also, about just categories in general, they're not to be treated like articles. We don't really merge those. It'd be like merging a template with a picture. They're just not compatible, totally different concepts. Largely, categories are extremely unpopular as a means of navigating topics to most of our viewers. It's why we have to make so many navigation templates. For the most part categories are just a tool for editors.Emma (Talk) 06:10, June 7, 2010 (UTC)

Word Linking

Hi! Question: I noticed a bit of goings-on on the OOT page on linking the word Ganondorf. I'm pretty sure it's ok to use: Deku Scrubs, to make things plural, and that apostrophe'd links like Ganon's won't work; but as far as other things, where do we draw the line, what's the policy? Can you tack on extra letters without piped links only for plurals? Because Ganondorf will link the whole word. Thanks! Embyr 75  --Talk-- 19:05, 29 July 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Well, our policies on linking are here. It doesn't seem to cover anything like what was going on on the OOT page, but, just from what I always remember, no one really seemed to like linking only part of the word such as Ganondorf and people would just either pipe link it or full link it and leave a redirect. I got a question...

What does hiatus mean? SuperMarioSuperFan 17:18, 20 August 2010 (EDT)

Hiatus means taking a break. Mandi Talk 21:20, August 20, 2010 (UTC)

RE: Sig

Hi, Ummm... is my signature okay now? or is it still too long? SuperMarioSuperFan 19:41, 4 September 2010 (EDT)

No... Here's what you need to do: Create a page titled User:Supermariosuperfan/sig and add all of the coding that you apparently have in your user preferences on that page. Finish it off with <noinclude></noinclude>. Then save the page. Now, create another page titled similarly: User:Supermariosuperfan/sig2 and in this page you only need to type:

Now, save that page and then go to your user preferences and clear everything out in that box and replace it with:
.
Make sure the "Treat signature as wikitext (without an automatic link)" is checked and then you're done! These signatures are really great because you can customize them with as much code as you need/want and it still hardly takes up any space on talk pages.Mandi Talk 02:00, September 5, 2010 (UTC)

Mask template

I'm entirely confused with this issue I have. I was going to create a template about the Happy Mask Salesman's comments on the various masks Link wears in Majora's Mask, so that I could include it in the masks' articles and put the corresponding comments within. I was reading the Help:Templates page to learn how to create it and ... I'm even more confused.

1. The consulted page says there are three types of templates. I don't know exactly how to classify the one I want to make, as it's neither about "navigation" (there is no collection of links), it's obviously not an "infobox", and I'm not very clear on the "formatting" thing.
2. The consulted page suggests the reader to copy and paste from another template. I was going to copy the Figurine template (it has the closest style to that of the template I want to make), but most of what I found in the source code was numbers and other weird stuff.
3. The consulted article doesn't guide me on how to add a fitting image for the template.

Any advices you can provide me, please? Cheers. --K2L (Interrogatory) 21:40, 11 September 2010 (EDT)

"most of what I found in the source code was numbers and other weird stuff" Do you mean Parameters?Emma (Talk) 03:09, September 12, 2010 (UTC)
Yes, that =P. I didn't want to copy and paste something whose role in a template I was unaware of, so I asked for help. The template I want to make is similar to that about the Fishman's hints on the islands in TWW, except this one is about the Salesman's comments on the masks in MM. --K2L (Interrogatory) 23:14, 11 September 2010 (EDT)
Ah, well that isn't all that difficult. I can slap one together rather quickly. Let me see what I can do.Emma (Talk) 03:25, September 12, 2010 (UTC)
