The Strong Queen and the Receptive King is an Object in Tears of the Kingdom.[1]

Location and Uses

The Strong Queen and the Receptive King is the third of 13 Ancient Tablets. It can be found on the Small Island within the Lanayru Sky Archipelago. When Link steps on the center of this Island, its center will give away. The Ancient Tablet will then fall to the Surface, landing along the southern shore of Ralis Pond. When Link inspects the Tablet, he will be unable to read its text.[2] As part of the "Messages from an Ancient Era" Side Adventure, Link must take a Picture of this Ancient Tablet and show it to Wortsworth so that he can translate it.[3]

In The Strong Queen and the Receptive King, the chamberlain recounts that Sonia was once a priestess who gave counsel to Rauru.[4] Wortsworth speculates that Rauru was charmed by Sonia's strong will and eventually fell in love with her.[5] As a reward for showing him a Picture of the Ancient Tablet, Wortsworth gives Link a Silver Rupee.[6] Once Wortsworth has translated all 13 Ancient Tablets, he will display a copy of The Strong Queen and the Receptive King's translation on the wall of the Zonai Survey Team Base.[7]

  3. "It's become clear that there are 13 stone tablets documenting the age of legends. By deciphering all of them, one could learn about the lives of the royal family of that era, which was not documented in any history book. Capture the stone tablets in pictures, and show them to Wortsworth in Kakariko Village. You still need to capture 12 stone tablets." — Adventure Log (Tears of the Kingdom)
  4. "This one looks to be about Queen Sonia. It claims that Sonia was a priestess before marrying Rauru. Despite his status as a Zonai, a people popularly thought to be gods, she would counsel him without any trepidation. Moreover, Rauru heeded this counsel." — Wortsworth (Tears of the Kingdom)
  5. "Incredible! This account gives us firsthand knowledge of the nature of Queen Sonia and King Rauru's relationship. Rauru found himself unexpectedly charmed by her strong will, and before long, they were married... Er, that last bit isn't in the text. That's me speculating. History rarely speaks of a person's character prior to being elevated to royalty. So I can't help but fantasize." — Wortsworth (Tears of the Kingdom)
