Removed their appearance in aLttP as thats not official (I think theyre called squirrels or something). —Preceding unsigned comment added by MercuryMule 08:38, 23 January 2007

Is it worth adding a not in the Trivia section linking to Deadrock, acknowledging this uncertainty? Adam [ talk ] 10:49, 17 January 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Bombs

Edited to change the OoT referance to harvest bombs as opposed to make bombs, as it is clearly stated in the game that while the stone is blocking Dodongo's Cavern, they can't harvest the bomb crop. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.41.161.162 22:06, 12 August 2007

If I recall correctlly, Weren't there Bonb Flowers on the Mountain? (The Goron said he needed to provide shade or they would explode in the sun during day...) ~Moshata, The Mistress~ 15:42, 28 February 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I don't think it was ever stated exactly why bomb flowers need shade, but yes, there is at least one bomb flower on Death Mountain Trail. As to the Gorons harvesting vs. manufacturing them, assuming Anon is right, it would seem that bomb flowers are used to make bombs, but it's pretty easy to see that bombs aren't just raw bomb flowers picked and stuffed into a bag, so it's probably a mix of both. Oracle games?

Weren't there gorons in Oracles games? I played OoA, and I remember seeing them in it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.139.180.21 22:52, 6 October 2007

Yes, there were. We should get some info up on them. Dinosaur bob 19:04, 6 October 2007 (EDT)

TWW

I'm not sure what else can be said about the Goron's in TWW. More could be said about that Island Trading Sequence, and Zurani's shop... but we have pages for those, and to go into detail about it here would be getting a little off topic and redundant, would it not? Basically, I'm asking is TWW section still in need of expansion? User:Light Knight/sig 04:32, 11 November 2008 (UTC)

We can summarize the Island trading sequence in a sub section and include a main article link.Emma (Talk) 04:39, November 11, 2008 (UTC)
Pretty much what I was thinking if it were determined that anything needed to be added. Just a little "hey, there's a sidequest!" blurb. That's about all I could see added. —Ando (talk) 04:43, 11 November 2008 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Yeah, that would be good. I don't think TWW article is really in need of anything but, I haven't looked at it lately so....Mandi Talk 05:47, 11 November 2008 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Could we maybe merge the Traveling Merchants page with it, or get rid of the Traveling Merchants page? User:Light Knight/sig 17:06, 11 November 2008 (UTC)

Definite merge.Emma (Talk) 17:07, November 11, 2008 (UTC)

Merging would clear some room on the Goron page. I agree with the merge.--HeroOfTheWinds10 15:59, 25 November 2008 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Further: I find the sectstub template could be taken off tWW section. Unless more is to be said... but really, to go any further with it would be stepping in the island trading sequence and Zurani, and not Gorons.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Light Knight 17:32, November 25, 2008 (UTC)

I'm sure it can still be expanded. Leaving the sectstub template will encourage expansion.Emma (Talk) 17:44, November 25, 2008 (UTC)

One last thing

Ok, I've butchered the bulk of the redundancies here, and not because I enjoy that sorta thing either. This is the closest thing we have to a new Featured Article and you guys did an excellent job getting it all together. I'm going to change my vote as soon as we can get some subsections within each game. It's a massive read and breaking it up would serve it well.Axiomist (talk) 06:17, 24 February 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I don't mind subsections myself, but the others should have their say too. Yep, it makes me proud to help work on this. The Goron Moron 07:20, 24 February 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

FSA

Should the Gorons from FSA be included, as well? Or is there a good reason as to why they're not in this article? Dany36 22:31, 12 March 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

No, they should be added. I guess no one has really cared to do it, that's all. Feel free to go ahead if you want to. Alter  {T C B H } 00:46, 13 March 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Alright, I'll try and do as much as I can, but I can barely recall their role on the game since I haven't played it in a while... I might need some help on this! Dany36 02:20, 13 March 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]
As much as I would love to help on the FSA section of the Gorons, I cannot because I do not own a copy of FSA and I don't think I will ever find a copy. Sorry. The Goron Moron 02:40, 13 March 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]
That's fine, TGM, thanks anyway. :D Tomorrow I'll play the Goron sections in FSA and try to write down as much info about them as I can. Dany36 03:04, 13 March 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Well, I added the Gorons of FSA, but they appear only once in the game so there's not that much that could have been written about them. Could someone add a picture of them in the FSA section? Dany36 17:51, 13 March 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I'll try to dig one up. Good job, by the way. :) Alter  {T C B H } 19:06, 13 March 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I wasn't able to find one anywhere. Perhaps someone else will have to take a SS. Alter  {T C B H } 19:29, 13 March 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Listing

Do you guys think it would be a good idea to have a listing of the well known Gorons that are in the various Zelda Games? I was considering adding it, but because it is a featured article, I don't want to mess with it unless others think it is necessary. There are about a 15-20 or so important Gorons throughout the series. Gorons that can be identified by name. In just Twilight Princess alone I can think of 6 off the top of my head.Mases 16:02, 16 March 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I think it's a good idea, just so long as it's kept neat and doesn't look too tacky. Maybe it would help if they were in alphabetical order. Alter  {T C B H } 16:37, 16 March 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I agree, too. Maybe we should do that with the Zoras, too...? Dany36 21:51, 16 March 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Feel free to do so, if you wish. My knowledge of OoT and MM begins to wane. Probably best if it's not me. ;) Alter  {T C B H } 21:58, 16 March 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Erm, wouldn't that be Category:Gorons? I mean, that's a list of all named members of the Goron race, in alphabetical order. I don't see what we gain by duplicating the information here; surely a link to the category would suffice? Adam [ talk ] 22:44, 16 March 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Female Gorons

Are there any female Gorons in any zelda games? I don't think that they're in any game but I need to be sure. If you have any info on this topic please respond (Blackzuki! 19:10, 7 June 2009 (UTC))Reply[reply]

I think they are, but all Gorons refer to each other as brothers. - AtrumLevis  (My Talk Page) (My Contributions) 20:44, 7 June 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Garons seems to be rock-like creatures, maybe they are asexual. Jeangabin 07:25, 6 June 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
"Males and females look the same" would be your best bet. Most cant tell the difference between a male/female zora, deku shrub, or even squirrel; so I think you guys are seriously overthinking it. --Stalkid 03:12, 9 July 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
You have an intersting theory here about Goron's relation with Golem. Are there any female Golem?? Jeangabin 06:42, 9 July 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Well, <offtopic> Golems came from a Hebrew folk tale about a man who created a beast out of clay. He wrote EMET on its forehead, which means "assistance". It became more and more rebellious until he decided to erase the E to spell MET, which means death. It crumbled and crushed him to death.</offtopic> Anyways, golems have been used in many forms of fantasy as generic forms of rock-people. They are generally considered monsters, so their gender doesn't really apply. However, I'm sure that a more civilized form of "Golem" would have males and females that were at least distinct; after all just about any of the Gorons you meet (Save Darunia, Link, Biggoron and Medigoron) may have been either males or famales. They look the same. --Stalkid 17:53, 11 July 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Gorons and Phantom Hourglass

Gorons couldn't have lived on Goron Island in Phantom Hourglass as this article currently states because of the nature of the island. It is part of the Ocean King's world, and therefore, doesn't exist. Perhaps a theory section could be added somewhere as to where they really could be though? I have a few things I could contribute to such a section, and I'd like to hear others' thoughts on it as well. I feel it is important to the history of this race. TheNintendOtaku

Um...The Wind Waker takes place in the Great Sea, which DOES exist. The World of the Ocean King is where most of the events of Phantom Hourglass take place. Also, to sign your talk page posts, all you have to do is place four tildes, like this: — ciprianotalk 02:40, 27 April 2010 (UTC) That's it. Dany36 03:15, 8 January 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I'm sorry, I meant to say Phantom Hourglass. The Great Sea in Phantom Hourglass is part of the Ocean King's world, and that is the sea Goron island is on. My mistake, and thank you for the tip, I'm fairly new. TheNintendOtaku 04:36, 9 January 2010 (UTC)
Ah, I see. Still though, it is never really specified where the Ocean King's world truly is, so we can't really assume it's in the Great Sea. It has to exist, though. Just because Tetra and Link didn't know how they got there doesn't mean it's an imaginary sea. ;) And don't worry, we all were new once. :D Dany36 04:42, 9 January 2010 (UTC)
But if The Ocean King's World is within a different dimension, as the game implies and an article on this and other Zelda sites state, then how could the gorons from the normal Zelda dimension be there? The "Real Great Sea" would be in another dimension than that of "The Ocean King's Great Sea," so Gorons from Wind Waker in the "real" sea wouldn't all migrate somehow to the "false" sea by Phantom Hourglass. I thought the whole 'other dimension' part was generally known/accepted, which is why I started this the way I did. TheNintendOtaku 07:05, 10 January 2010 (UTC)

The Problem with Goron Island

In the Wind Waker section of this article, it is speculated that the "far away place" where the Gorons are said to live is actually Goron island. The problem with this is that Goron Island is actually located within the World of the Ocean King. There is nothing to suggest that Gorons would be able to freely pass between these two dimensions, so I assume that this statement was merely an oversight. The Gorons definitely have someplace on Wind Waker's Great Sea to call their own, but it couldn't be Goron Island. TheNintendOtaku 00:51, 27 April 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Thing is, your last statement is pure speculation as well, with the same amount of validity as the one in the article. And because we allow referenced theory here at ZW, the statement in the article is perfectly plausible, especially since the ending of Phantom Hourglass cast a large amount of ambiguity on the "realness" of the World of the Ocean King. I don't believe the article's speculation is an oversight. — ciprianotalk 02:40, 27 April 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Names

I was going to suggest that a rock rolling down a hill would be Koron (high-pitched/flat sound) and Goron would refer to the lower pitched or deep sound of a hollow object rolling down a hill (I.e. a log). Also, to throw another theory out there; you guys must remember the letter L is pronounced as an R and an M cannot be at the end of a syllable so is replaced with N. Therefore, the word Golem (pronounced more similarly to Golom) would become Goron. Rock golems have many similarities to gorons already, so in theory it would be reasonable...right? --Stalkid 00:58, 5 July 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Yess, this a theory is very interesting!! Jeangabin 06:44, 9 July 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
That's a very good and interesting theory. Unfortunately, even with their Engrish, a more accurate translation would be Goremu (or at the very least Goren). But, yes. It's very plausible. - TonyT S C 18:47, 11 July 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
It's a good point, I suppose, but Miyamoto has made mistakes in the past. (donkey = stupid?) --Stalkid 02:36, 12 July 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
LOL!!! You mean Donkey = Stubborn. ^_^ He was close; he just didn't have a good enough grasp of the nuances of English. But English is difficult like that, so. 8) Embyr 75  --Talk-- 02:40, 12 July 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
"There's a tribe of rock folk called Gorons living on Death Mountain." According to the Yellow Maiden when you talk to her while she is in her fairy form. Jeangabin 07:44, 19 August 2010 (EDT)

Life Span

While I was playing Oracle of Ages, I think I found something else about the gorons. in Labrynna present, a goron sits in a cave next to the Crazy carts mini-game, and told Link that a long time ago, his grandfather ran a different business before the Crazy carts, as if his grandfather was alive back then. Labrynna in the past is 400 years apart from the present, meaning that the gorons could have a life span of at least 400 years. It's just a thought, its very late where I am, and I don't know if this could help. SuperMarioSuperFan 01:15, 10 September 2010 (EDT)

Interesting stuff. You should make a thread about it on the Zelda Universe forum's theory section so that experienced theorists can give feedback on it. Tell 'em "mentos" sent you. Afterwards if the theory holds up you can add it to the theory section or the trivia page.

Goron reproduction theory

http://www.zeldauniverse.net/forums/zelda-theorizing/152904-gorons-how-do-they-grow-reproduce-2.html#post4951101

This theory seems to be getting a lot of love from one of the bigger Zelda websites. Is that good enough for it to earn a mention in the theory section? Dekler 12:28, 16 December 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Citation direly needed.

"It is stated that the Gorons in this title are in fewer numbers and that they had probably gone into hiding, living quietly in caves. The Gorons once lived in Mount Crenel, and their short supply seems to suggest that something may have happened on the mountain to dwindle their numbers. It's also speculated by some that many of the Gorons may have simply decided to migrate." Where is this stuff coming from? Dekler 14:46, 30 January 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Just went through the text dump and there is 0 evidence to support this. As such, I'm removing it from the article.User:Justin ZW/sig 23:06, 30 January 2013 (UTC)

ScribbleNaughts Unlimited

So i was playing the game aforementioned and I was bored so I typed in some Zelda universe figures and they came up. A goron was one of them. I wanted to know if we should put this under non-canon information. EpicDude25 February 10, 2013 10:39 P.M. PST

If you can provide proof for it, it would go well on the Cameos of The Legend of Zelda page. There's already a Scribblenauts section, too, so you could add it there. - TonyT S C 09:44, 11 February 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Scribblenauts Unlimited has its own page and Gorons are listed there already. So yeah, I think it should be added to the non-canon section. — Hylian King [*] 12:25, 11 February 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]
The non-canon section here? If so I can put down all the items and characters in game on ther respected pages EpicDude25 February 11, 2013 11:10 A.M. PST

Breath of the Wild

Is anyone working on adding BOTW related content to this page? Gorons play a prominent roll in that game so im a little confused as to why they aren't on this page. Astronomifier April 25, 2018 9:41 P.M. CST
