I don't know what this is, but this is not the GDT once run by Attrox. As far as I can tell, the site currently linked in the article made no impact on the community whatsoever. - F3

Deletion

Old, well known website that closed nearly 5 years ago. Exact details of the site are unknown nowadays and unless Attrox shows up, I don't know if we'll ever be able to piece together a decent history page for this website. I would say delete it for now to keep things looking cleaner. If the Webmaster does come along, or somebody that has a vivid memory of GDT, then they can create the page and establish a history page that's far more in-depth than this. I was an Administrator there during the fall. Trust me, it had a decent impact. I'll get around to putting something together, I'm sure Attrox is still in an alcoholic daze. There's no reason to delete it if I'm just gonna work on it soon anyway. The last few months were the important parts, as the site went down in flames and spawned some things still around today. Ya, I'm not at all questioning its impact. I myself was a semi frequent visitor of the site years ago. I'm just not familiar enough with its full history, especially dating back to its ZeldaGames days. Additionally, because of some issues, it isn't available at web archive. However, I originally marked it for deletion over a month ago. Since then F3 and I, as well as a few of the other Wiki people have gotten a better understanding as to what we think is important in terms of articles for websites on the Wiki. Thus, the GDT is clearly important enough and once we finish cleaning up with the cleanup of fan sites, we'll try to work to improve the quality of these old sites that have crappy Wiki pages. I was pretty much running that shitshow by the end. Attrox had left it to die well before he stopped paying for it. I'm only familiar with the last year or two, the early parts I have little on but I can do some digging. I think the major problem with this wiki is that people don't want to do any REAL research, like going and trying to talk to people about what they might know. I know that I'm well known for my knowledge of the community and no one's contacted me with anything until recently. I've been around for over ten years, why don't people bother to talk to the old members anymore? That's a policy issue, however. I'll start digging through old drives for GDT stuff. You might not be as well known as you think, I've been active in the LoZ community longer than the majority of the fans. I came around after OoT,(been a LoZ fan without internet longer than that tho) and I think the bulk of active LoZ community fans began WW-TP. We can't blame them for not researching what we did and where before their time. On the contrary Tempest. That is exactly what I told Mases to do when he said he wanted to clean up the fan site pages. Talk to old members of the community for information. I didn't think it should be our responsibility to seek out webmasters from sites that closed years ago to get a better Wiki article for a site. I thought that it was time consuming and the Wiki has a lot more pressing issues than this. I also thought (and still think to an extent), that contemporary sources for websites are not the most reliable and will not tell the whole story. However, if there are enough contemporary sources of a website, I think we can build a decent history without the webmaster. With more recent sites like Great Deku Tree (closed in 04) we probably can draw a better picture of the site. With older sites like ZeldaGames.com or Team Save Zelda or Ice's Zelda Central, etc... it might be a bit more difficult. I have changed my mind on this issue and no longer think the deletion of these important sites articles is a good idea. I've been working with F3 on this project for a little while, and hopefully with Tempest and a few other of the long time community members, we can get a decent history for some of these websites.
