Reesong Palace (pronounced /ˈɹiːsɒŋ/ REE-song)[1] is Ganon's stronghold in Template:WOG.

Overview

It is a large fortress-like castle in the middle of Gamelon's most mountainous area and is considerably run-down and filled with Ganon's hordes of minions. There is a long bridge over a river that connects to the Fairy Pool and Shutoy Lake. The bridge is built in Nokani Forest, and it is where Princess Zelda starts the dungeon. It is also here that Ganon has King Harkinian locked up.

Impa appears in the fortress yard to tell Zelda that she "can only win by falling", hinting that there is a sewer in the castle and Zelda should fall in. An entrance is blocked by a rock and can be destroyed with 10 bombs, which eventually leads to a tower filled with flying enemies and statue heads. Outside the tower, Zelda will be in the castle top yard. In the middle of the yard, a sewer entrance is seen, which is where Zelda should fall in as Impa advised. Inside the sewer there is a small passage that connects into a destroyed room, where spikes fall from the ceiling constantly. After retrieving the key in this room, Zelda must go back to the sewer and enter another passage that leads her back to Reesong Palace's outer area.

By unlocking the gate found with the key previously collected, Zelda will read Ganon's lair, who will show up afraid of the Fairy Lantern's light. Zelda defeats Ganon with the power of the Wand of Gamelon and Ganon is imprisoned in the Book of Koridai. He will also drop a key that is required to free the King. Once the King is freed, the Royal Retainer arises with the apprehended Duke Onkled, who begs for mercy from the King. Lady Alma is also present, who inadvertently frees Link from being imprisoned in the mirror.
