Template:Place The Drablands are a location in Tri Force Heroes. It is the world that the game's Levels take place in.
Features and Overview
The Drablands are described as a world filled with dangerous enemies and obstacles.[1] It features many lands of various regions, including woodlands, ice caverns, and deserts, among many others. It is the domain of Lady Maud, also known as the Drablands witch.[2] The Drablands can only be entered through the Triforce Gateway in Hytopia Castle, and only a trio of chosen heroes may venture through it.[2][3]
After The Lady curses Princess Styla to wear an irremovable outfit, King Tuft searches for chosen heroes, as only a trio of such can enter the Drablands. If Link is without allies, the Doppel Master will awaken two Doppels in his image to accompany him into the lands.
Areas
- See Coliseum for the identically named Coliseum levels.
The Drablands are divided into eight regions called Areas. Each Area has four Levels, which are each divided into four sections called Stages.
Woodlands
The Woodlands is a forested Area in the Drablands. It contains rivers, earthy caves, and temple ruins in the middle of a large forest. It contains the Levels Deku Forest, Buzz Blob Cave, Moblin Base, and Forest Temple. It is the first Area of the Drablands available, and after defeating its guardian Margoma, the Riverside, Volcano and Ice Cavern Areas become available. The Woodlands also holds The Lady's Glasses.
Riverside
The Riverside is an Area in the Drablands that consists of large lakes, rivers and rushing waterfalls. It is also the location of a fortress base, as well as a flooded temple. It contains the Levels Secret Fortress, Abyss of Agony, Cove of Transition, and Water Temple. The Water Rod and Gripshot are introduced here.
Volcano
The Volcano is an Area in the Drablands known for its intense volcanic activity. It consists mostly of hostile caves filled with fire and magma, but also contains mines and a fiery temple. It contains the Levels Blazing Trail, Hinox Mine, Den of Flames, and Fire Temple.
Ice Cavern
The Ice Cavern is a frozen, mountainous Area in the Drablands. It consists of snowy mountain peaks, as well as a frozen temple. It contains the Levels Frozen Plateau, Snowball Ravine, Silver Shrine, and Ice Temple. The Fire Gloves are introduced here.
Fortress
The Fortress is a heavily guarded Area in the Drablands, which consists of a large, castle that stretches to the sky. It is notably the location of The Lady's lair. The Links infiltrate it from below at the fortress gates, and gradually climb it up. It contains the Levels Sealed Gateway, Bomb Storage, Training Ground, and The Lady's Lair. The Fortress becomes available after completing the Riverside, Volcano and Ice Cavern Areas. After its completion, The Dunes and The Ruins become available. The Fortress also holds The Lady's Collar.
The Dunes
The Dunes is a sandy, desert Area in the Drablands. It consists of quicksand and pyramids, as well as a sandy temple. It contains the Levels Infinity Dunes, Stone Corridors, Gibdo Mausoleum, and Desert Temple.
The Ruins
The Ruins is a dark, foreboding Area within the Drablands. It consists of haunted crypts, ghosts, undead and a dark haunted temple. It contains the Levels Illusory Mansion, Palace Noir, Lone Labyrinth, and Grim Temple.
Sky Realm
The Sky Realm, as its name suggests, is an Area located in the sky above the Drablands. It contains the Levels Floating Garden, Deception Castle, Dragon Citadel, and Sky Temple. It is the last Area of the Drablands where The Lady is fought in the final battle. The Sky Realm holds The Lady's Parasol.
Den of Trials
The Den of Trials is an Area added through the 2.0.0 update. It is an underground complex consisting of 40 floors, each challenging the Links to hordes of various enemies that must be defeated to advance. The Area is divided into themed Stages called Zones, which are based on the previous eight Areas.
Drablands Challenges
Once an Area's guardian boss is defeated, the Drablands Challenges are unlocked. These challenges provide three more difficult versions of each Level, such as completing it with a time limit or with fewer Heart Containers. Materials awarded at the end of a Level differ slightly, allowing the Links to earn better rewards by tackling harder missions. Once all of an Area's challenges are completed, Link can visit King Tuft in order to receive some of the rarest Materials that can only be obtained through the Coliseum otherwise. Once all 128 Drablands Challenges are completed, Link is rewarded with a Gold Rupee worth 300.
Nomenclature
The term "drab" can mean boring, or a lack of color and brightness. This is in contrast to Hytopia's fashion-obsessed nature.
