White Wolfos, as the name describes, are snowy, sometimes anthropomorphic wolf-like creatures that take to icy climates such as the Snow Realm in Spirit Tracks and Snowpeak in Twilight Princess, however, these foes have been spotted in unlikely areas as well such as the Gerudo's Training Ground in Ocarina of Time. These creatures are usually common overworld enemies, nevertheless, in Majora's Mask, they disappear in Snowhead and the surrounding area once Goht is defeated, and only appear in the Ice Cavern of Ocarina of Time. In terms of appearance, the Twilight Princess incarnation inhibits a glow of sorts, adding to its enhanced realistic look, while the Spirit Tracks foes appear more cartoony to match the graphical style. It is interesting to note, that these White Wolfos have yellow eyes, while their previous incarnations have red eyes.
MM3D in MM3D are identical to their counterparts. They appear in the MM3D, inside giant snowballs in the MM3D, in the MM3D, at MM3D, and inside MM3D. When MM3D comes to the MM3D, the MM3D except those inside MM3D are replaced by normal MM3D.

TPHD more closely resemble real wolves in TP. They hide in snow fields and wait for TPHD to approach. When he does, they will pop out of the snow and attempt to jump and attack, usually in packs of two or more. They may also dive back into the snow to reemerge elsewhere for surprise attacks.

ST are typically found in the ST. They hide in snow waiting for ST to walk by, at which point they jump out and attack. ST tend to hunt in packs, dodging ST's attacks while another counterattacks. They can be stunned with the ST.

These enemies tend to circle around Link, as if a human combatant themselves, looking for an appropriate time to strike and keeping their dark paws up as shields until the right moment. White Wolfos can dodge, block, and even counter Link's attacks, making them quite the formidable foe. The enemies seen in Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask stand on their two feet while attacking, while the hounds from Twilight Princess and Spirit Tracks not only attack in packs, but choose to butt into Link on all fours, by comparison. Interestingly, the White Wolfos of Twilight Princess can dive headlong into the snow as if it was water and reappear elsewhere, enabling them to disappear at will and launch surprise attacks.

In LCT, LCT appear in Level 8: Snowpeak Ruins: Defender. They inhabit the mountains of Snowpeak in packs, and can be found around the frozen lake and can ambush Link from piles of snow. Similar to their appearance in -, they surround Link in groups and attack by pouncing on him. They appear in much greater numbers as the Level's timer begins to runs out. They can be defeated with one shot of the Crossbow.

As to be expected, these creatures are close relatives of the smaller Wolfos, a similar enemy that boasts a tattered, darker coat, and identical behavior.

In Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask, Wolfos in general have a major weak spot: their tails. The easiest way to defeat one is simply to dodge its attack and strike its tail when it exposes its back, which will kill it instantly. In Twilight Princess and Spirit Tracks, because these wolves attack in groups, any conventional weapon works to dispel them.

Trivia
*White Wolfos act similarly to real wolves. In Twilight Princess, they usually tend to retreat and regroup when they fail to harm Link.
Nomenclature
*Despite the names implying that the Wolfos is the default form or a more basic enemy than the White Wolfos, the White Wolfos is more common, appearing in four games to the Wolfos's two.

White Wolfos are recurring Enemies in The Legend of Zelda series.[2][3][name references needed]

Characteristics

Ocarina of Time

White Wolfos are white, wolf-like creatures. They are larger than their normal Wolfos counterparts, and are generally only found in icy climates such as the Ice Cavern. White Wolfos run around on their four legs but occasionally stop to attack with their front two claws. Their method of attack is to circle around Link before rushing in to strike. If Link attempts to attack them head-on, they will simply guard themselves. The force from their attacks causes them to spin around and hesitate momentarily, revealing their vulnerable tails.

A White Wolfos acts as a Sub-Boss in the Ice Cavern. Other White Wolfos also appear inside the Gerudo Training Ground.

Majora's Mask

Tatl's Commenthide ▲
Tatl says:

It's a White Wolfos., Lure it in and watch its movements. It doesn't like its tail to be touched...

White Wolfos in Termina are identical to their Hyrulean counterparts. They appear in the Road to Mountain Village, inside giant snowballs in the Mountain Village, in the Road to Goron Village, at Snowhead, and inside Snowhead Temple. When Spring comes to the Snowhead Region, the White Wolfos except those inside Snowhead Temple are replaced by normal Wolfos.

Twilight Princess

White Wolfos more closely resemble real wolves in Twilight Princess. They hide in snow fields and wait for Link to approach. When he does, they will pop out of the snow and attempt to jump and attack, usually in packs of two or more. They may also dive back into the snow to reemerge elsewhere for surprise attacks.

Spirit Tracks

White Wolfos are typically found in the Snow Realm. They hide in snow waiting for Link to walk by, at which point they jump out and attack. White Wolfos tend to hunt in packs, dodging Link's attacks while another counterattacks. They can be stunned with the Boomerang.

Other Appearances

Link's Crossbow Training

In Link's Crossbow Training, White Wolfos appear in Level 8: Snowpeak Ruins: Defender. They inhabit the mountains of Snowpeak in packs, and can be found around the frozen lake and can ambush Link from piles of snow. Similar to their appearance in Twilight Princess, they surround Link in groups and attack by pouncing on him. They appear in much greater numbers as the Level's timer begins to runs out. They can be defeated with one shot of the Crossbow.

Cadence of Hyrule

White Wolfos appear as enemies in Cadence of Hyrule where they only appear in cold, icy dungeons such as the Frozen Grotto and parts of the Future World. Like most enemies, they can only move to the beat of the music and prefer to move on every second beat. However, unlike other enemies, they can move and attack in all eight directions, including diagonally. Fortunately, they will only attack either Cadence, Link, Yves, and Zelda if they're not looking directly at them.

If any of the heroes does manage to get a look at them, they will change their course of direction and hop away from the heroes, keeping their eyes on them at all times until they turn around or until the White Wolfos moves to a position either behind or adjacent to the hero where they cannot see them. Before moving and attacking, they will always crouch down and bare their long, saber-tooth-like fangs for one beat before hopping onto another tile, dealing damage to anyone who's standing in their way. They share this pattern with other Wolfos enemies.

A White Wolfos pup can be found outside of the Kakariko Shooting Gallery in Octavo's Ode. Octavo can pet it by moving in its direction.
