Treasure Chest are recurring Objects in The Legend of Zelda series.[1]
Location and Uses
The Legend of Zelda
Though Treasure Chests do not appear in The Legend of Zelda, Link is seen opening one in Art & Artifacts and the manual.
A Link to the Past
In A Link to the Past, Treasure Chests are handcrafted by artisans and are used by Hyruleans to protect family heirlooms.[2] They appear in two different sizes: small ones that contain items such as Rupees, Bombs and Heart Containers, and big ones that contain Key Items found in Dungeons and require a Big Key to be opened.
There is also a singular blue Treasure Chest containing a Bottle in the Dark World equivalent of the Smithery after rescuing the Dwarven Swordsmith. Link must take it to the Average Middle-Aged Man near the entrance of the Desert of Mystery who will open it for him.
There are three three locations where Link can play the Treasure Chest Game.
Link's Awakening
In Link's Awakening, Treasure Chests contain various items such as Rupees and Small Keys.
In Key Cavern, a Treasure Chest contain a Green Zol. Additionally, in Catfish's Maw, the Treasure Chest supposed to contain the Hookshot is empty when Link opens it: its content has been stolen by Master Stalfos.[3]
