Tarrey Town is an initially-uninhabited circular rocky island in the middle of the northern section of [[Lake Akkala]] in the [[Akkala Highlands]], connected to the mainland only by a rock arch functioning as a bridge. The only point of interest at this point in time is a lone [[Goddess Statue]] in the center.

Tarrey Town is a recurring location in The Legend of Zelda series.[1][2]

Features and Overview

Breath of the Wild

Tarrey Town is a settlement in the Akkala Highlands started by Bolson Construction after Link begins the "Hylian Homeowner" Side Quest.[3] The site of Tarrey Town is initially an uninhabited, circular rock island in the northern section of Lake Akkala. Only a Goddess Statue sits near the center of the island, at which Link can trade Spirit Orbs for Heart Containers or Stamina Vessels.[4]

When Tarrey Town is complete, it contains six Houses, all built in Bolson Construction's signature style of brightly-colorful cubic modules arranged and stacked to create different shapes of homes. All Houses ring the central square in a hexagonal arrangement similarly to a cul-de-sac, with the backs of each house against the outer edge of the island. The center of the square has a fountain and the Goddess Statue is moved to the fountain's centerpiece. One of these Houses serves as an Inn for travelers, which remains unnamed.

When Link initially comes upon the site, Hudson reveals his plans to build a village named Tarrey Town.[5] However, with only a House built to store the supplies, Hudson feels there is not enough in the Town.[6][7] As part of the "From the Ground Up" Side Quest, Link will gather bundles of Wood for Hudson so he can construct more Houses.[8][9][10][11] He also asks Link to help him recruit employees to work and manage Shops in the Town, including a Goron miner,[12][13] a Gerudo tailor,[14][15] and a Rito trader.[16][17] Due to Bolson Construction policy, all new employees must have names that end with "-son".[18]

After Hudson receives all the Wood he needs for building, he confesses that he has gotten engaged to the Gerudo tailor, Rhondson.[19][20] For the ceremony, he asks that Link try to find a priest for them among the Zora.[21] He also requests that Link invite Bolson and Karson of Bolson Construction on his behalf.[22][23] Once all the guests have been gathered, the ceremony will take place in front of Tarrey Town's Goddess Statue.

Kapson presides over Hudson and Rhondson's wedding ceremony.[24] He starts by asking Hudson if he will take Rhondson as his wife,[25] which he accepts.[26] Next, he asks the same question of Rhondson, with an additional vow to name their children in accordance with Bolson Construction policies.[27] Though Rhondson initially objects to its inclusion,[28] she eventually agrees to abide by the guidelines.[29] Kapson then declares Hudson and Rhondson officially married.[30] Following the ceremony, Hudson will give Link three Diamonds as a reward for his help,[31] and the "From the Ground Up" Side Quest will be completed.

Throughout "From the Ground Up", Granté, Hagie, Hunnie, Moggs, Monari, and Ruli will all move into Tarrey Town. As a result of this, the "A Parent's Love" and "Hobbies of the Rich" Side Quests will become available.[32][33] Since Granté is a Merchant, Link will be able to purchase rare Armor from him.

One Treasure Chest can be found in Tarrey Town. By befriending one of the Hylian Retrievers behind Moggs and Monari's House, Link will be led to a metal Chest buried in the ground, which contains a bundle of five Bomb Arrows.[34]
