An idea

Hey there! Welcome. :D I notice you're making a lot of edits to a single page. If I might make a suggestion, before saving, you can use the "Show preview" button to see if your edit works and if you need to change anything else before you ACTUALLY save the page. Saving the page over and over really clogs up the Recent Changes page, and makes it a little difficult for those of us who hang around here way too much to see all of the other edits made. Thanks, and happy editing! —Ando (talk) 06:11, 15 November 2008 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Question

I appreciate the work you're doing, but I have to say... A lot of the commas you're removing / adding seem like the opposite of what would normally be done. Granted, I'm not some grammar rule expert, but I like to think that I can write good sentences, and some of the edits you're making seem backwards to me. I could be completely wrong about this -- I've been schooled on grammar rules before, so this could be one of those cases, I dunno. Is there some comma rule I'm unaware of? :P —Ando (talk) 19:47, 25 November 2008 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Whoa, offense? Haha, none taken, don't worry. I looked over that page, and it all makes sense, but a couple of the edits still seem a little off to me... I dunno. Next time I see one that confuses me, I'll compare it with the page. —Ando (talk) 20:42, 25 November 2008 (UTC)Reply[reply]

A couple things.
One: Talking on wikis is not like talking on forum profiles. If someone asks or tells you something, it is best to respond on the same page.
Two: I know you want that banner, but you're flooding the recent changes with multiple edits of the same page where you made only one small change in each edit. It would be better if you tried to consolidate those into single edits. This keeps the recent changes and the page history clean. Also, it makes it easier for us to actually see what you did.Emma (Talk) 00:49, November 26, 2008 (UTC)

The first thing was not a demand. I was just informing you what the proper etiquette is. I wasn't trying to command you around with your edits. We make the same request to other users quite often.
I'm am afraid that I'm going to have to ask you to control your temper. Other users would have retaliated to that.Emma (Talk) 14:12, November 26, 2008 (UTC)
I'd just like to intercede real quick before this (potentially) gets out of hand.
I've known Matt for a bit, and so I've kind of gotten to the point where I can tell if he's really upset with someone or not. There, he really wasn't trying to yell at you or anything. However, I completely understand how you could have taken it as rude; the real meaning of a message is very difficult to pass along through text, and quite often the wrong idea is given when there was really no intention of it.
I'm not really going to, er, "punish" (I... I can't think of a better word) either of you, as I understand where you're both coming from. I'd just like to ask that from now on we all try to pass along our messages as carefully as possible to ensure that the proper meaning is sent, and try to make sure that the feeling we get from a message is really what the author intended. Like I've said, it's a tricky situation, but...
...together...
...WE CAN DO IT. :OAndo (talk) 15:40, 26 November 2008 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Just look into yesterday's edit history for a look at me being really angry. That vandal was nasty. You can tell just how angry in my "comment" to him after I blocked him. Vandalism is about the only thing that really gets me angry. I can't stand it. So if you didn't vandalize, then you won't have to worry about me being angry with you.
If you notice something in my behavior that you think should be improved, then tell me. I've only been a sysop for a day now. I just ask that you try to keep it civil.Emma (Talk) 16:14, November 26, 2008 (UTC)

Multiple Edits

Thank you for your recent contributions to Zelda Wiki.org! I did notice however, that you seem to be making multiple edits to the same page. While there is nothing wrong with this, it just tends to clog the Recent Changes page and also the page history. If you could click the "Show Preview" button before submitting, it would be much appreciated. Sounding rude or nagging here is not intended, so I hope my comments are not taken as such. This is merely a suggestion.Mandi Talk 00:01, 12 February 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I have talked Ando about this but I guess I will post it here too so others will see as well. The reason I do multiple edits on the same page is due to me working on the wiki at work when it is slow. I usually edit each section at a time (on the huge, detailed pages) and save as I move through each section. I don't want to lose all of my work on a long page (like Ganondorf's) when someone else hops onto my computer (which does happen). You weren't coming off as rude or nagging, so don't worry about that. Jwalraven 00:16, 12 February 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]
