Image Transparency

I suggest that for http://www.zeldawiki.org/File:Complimentary.jpg that you use a PNG file with transparency either using Photoshop or Gimp. We want to rid of all WHITE and BLUE BACKGROUND images. A good example of transparency is this File: http://www.zeldawiki.org/File:ST Link and Phantom Zelda Artwork.png . We are changing the images all to transparent so we can be able to make a new theme whenever. - AtrumLevis  (My Talk Page) (My Contributions) 17:25, 16 June 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Yeah, sure but I got an error message when I tried to upload a .png version. What should I do? Johlin 17:47, 16 June 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

You sure? I'd report it to Emma or some of the wiki staff. I just monitor things so I don't know the issue. - AtrumLevis  (My Talk Page) (My Contributions) 18:36, 16 June 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Are you trying to replace the jpg image with a png image? If that is what you are trying to do, that will not work. What you need to do is just upload the png file as an entirely new image. Then relink the pages that have the jpg image and replace it with the png image. Then... down the road, the jpg image will be deleted because it will be unused. Hopefully that makes sense. Your recent attempt at image transparency is not up to Zelda Wiki Quality Standards. Only people with the proper software and skills (see Image Requests) should assist in image transparency. You can continue with cropping if you'd like. Image transparency is not something that you're going to be good at from the start, it takes practice. The problem with your transparent images is the white strokes, which looks bad on the wiki's blue background.Mandi Talk 19:26, 16 June 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]
