Thanks a Lot a very Lot!!!

Thanks for that Vandalist User that was a little crazy(i think very crazy) but thanks a very lot for that you are my favorite admin(i have no others hahaha) —Preceding unsigned comment added by DARKLY143 {{{2}}}

No hay problema. ;) Lastima que no lo pudimos bloquear antes, pero bueno. :D (Psst, que no se te olvide poner ~~~~ al final de tus comentarios) --Dany36 00:34, 29 February 2012 (EST)

Skyward Sword Takkuri?

Hi I'm new around here and I since your an admin I'd like to ask you a question. You see... in Skyward Sword there is this bird that flys around the entrance to the forest area in Skyward sword. Whenever it gets killed it drops 20 Rupees. Do you know what this bird enemy is because I think it's a Takkuri? --Nathbuds123 12:14, 26 January 2012 (EST)

Hmm...I think that may just be a Guay. Several enemies drop 20 Rupees when they're defeated, though. Which part specifically are you talking about? --Dany36 13:17, 26 January 2012 (EST)
It's a Guay. There are no other bird enemies in the forest itself.--Osteoderm Jacket 17:50, 28 January 2012 (EST)

You know where the green pillar of light is in the sky is right? Usually there is a big bird that just flys around the light and defeating it earns about 20 rupees. Just fly around there and you'll see it. I think it's closer to the clouds though. --Nathbuds123 15:44, 26 January 2012 (EST)

The one that appears in the sky is also a Guay. If you look it shares a model with the one found in the forest.--Osteoderm Jacket 17:50, 28 January 2012 (EST)

The Minister name is Impa

I have a picture but in a Spanish Game that his name is Impa but i dont know if the version is European or American can you help me? Thanks --—Preceding unsigned comment added by DARKLY147 {{{2}}}

Ah, I thought you meant the European English version. I'll add it under the Names template. --Dany36 14:59, 2 February 2012 (EST)

Can't upload new version for File:OoT Great Deku Tree.png

Hey Dany. I was wondering if you could upload a new version for File:OoT Great Deku Tree Artwork.png for me. Everytime when I try to do it I just end up getting an internal error(SpecialUpload::processVerificationError: Unknown value `12`). Probably because of the file size limitation. I removed the background for this image so here's the new version. I've kept the sunrays falling through the leafs and the glowing sprite thingies in the air intact so it should look pretty nice. Thanks in advance. Bakeneko 12:14, 4 February 2012 (EST)

Hello! Since the background is being removed off an official artwork image, in this case, it'd be best to upload it as a separate image instead of overwriting the official one. Anyway, yes, I just tried uploading it myself and it gave me the same error. I'll ask another admin to bump the filesize limit to 20 MB like it used to be before the server change. --Dany36 12:33, 4 February 2012 (EST)
Bluh, seems like we're gonna have to contact the server guys to do it for us, so I'm afraid the wait will be a little longer than anticipated. Sorry for the inconvenience! --Dany36 14:14, 4 February 2012 (EST)
Well, if we're gonna upload it as a seperate image anyway, theres also the option to lower the resolution a bit but I don't know if you guys would like that. Right now the image is at 2.2 MB.Bakeneko 23:48, 4 February 2012 (EST)
Losing a few pixels won't kill us, so maybe lower the resolution a bit so that it can be just below the 2 MB limit for now...? --Dany36 23:50, 4 February 2012 (EST)

Help me!

Can you please help me a topic of Zelda Timeline that I added on the talk page: http://www.zeldawiki.org/Talk:Zelda_Timeline#WHAT.21.21.21.3F_Link_staying_in_Ordon_Village.21.3F The topic is called: "WHAT!? Link staying in Ordon village!? At the end, in fact Link does not stay in Ordon Village, and rides away; and I really want to add that information on the Zelda Timeline page (Twilight Era) but I can't edit ....:( I would be really happy if you could add on the Twilight Era that in fact Link does not stay in Ordon Village, please. Will you help me? Answer me as soon as you read this --Isamisa 12:38, 12 February 2012 (EST)

Please, help me ;( --Isamisa 17:29, 13 February 2012 (EST)

Done! :D --Dany36 19:08, 13 February 2012 (EST)

THANK YOU very much!! :D I'm pleased you tried to help me, but I have to say that the sentence is bit confusing *-*u. Don't you think is much better that you put like this: Link returned to Ordon Village, however, he later departed with Epona from his hometown. It's safe to say that his adventures are over. What do you think? :D --Isamisa 18:48, 14 February 2012 (EST)

We can't really say his adventures are over, since he might have left to another land and had another adventure, kind of like the ALttP/LA/OoX Link. I'll try to fix up the wording. --Dany36 14:07, 16 February 2012 (EST)

Pleasee!! Thank you soo much!! :) I'll be looking forward for the change! :D --Isamisa 16:36, 17 February 2012 (EST)

Background removal

Please forgive me if this is a stupid question, but is there some way I can request something specific if I put an image up for background removal? The Link's Awakening maps I uploaded have background fills*, but they include the side-scrolling parts of the dungeons and they are separated from the main dungeon chunk by background fill. I want to make sure they aren't removed along with the background. I'm not sure whether it's considered better to have them still be part of the same image with a transparent background or to have them be separate images, but I do want them to still be present in some form, as that was part of the point of my uploading these images in the first place. Also, the side-scrolling portions are labeled by letters indicating which part of the main map they connect to, but these letters extend into what is otherwise completely blank white background. (Check out File:LADX Turtle Rock Map.png, for instance.) I guess the way to deal with this would be to remove the background around the letters, but is that a reasonable thing to request?

I ask because none of the pictures in the section of the Image Requests page dealing with background removal have any text associated with them, so I don't know whether it's OK to add a note about the nature of the background removal needed.

*Is it preferred for this type of image to have the background removed? I don't recall ever being told whether it is or not. --Osteoderm Jacket 01:28, 22 February 2012 (EST)

Yeah, you can specify! I remember Abdullah did it with an image not too long. You could do this:
File:LADX Tail Cave Map.png|(details here)
About the letters, they could probably just be deleted and then replaced with a new set of white letters to make it easier on the person doing the transparency, but nothing is too crazy to request! SO I say go ahead. Also, don't worry about thinking some questions are too stupid to ask, because they aren't! :D --Dany36 01:40, 22 February 2012 (EST)
Thank you so much! I really appreciate all the effort you guys go to to accommodate clueless newbies like me. --Osteoderm Jacket 01:52, 22 February 2012 (EST)
I would not refer to you as a newbie, you're an autoconfirmed user, and have made an incredible {{#ec:Osteoderm Jacket}} edits. Put this on your userpage:

! ----Norrvegr (talk | contribs) 03:38, 22 February 2012 (EST)

Hey Dany! I'm gonna stuff this right in this section because the title fits. :)

What about those SSBB images on the Image Requests page. I have no problem with removing the background, but it sure would be annoying if they get reverted again. I know that Echo of Courage added them, but you don't seem sure wheter you like that or not. ;) Bakeneko 00:23, 25 February 2012 (EST)

Hmmmm...the reason I wasn't sure if the background needed removal is because...for example, this image wouldn't need a background removal, or this, because it's just showing a gameplay mechanic rather than it being an official artwork, unlike this, the last one having its background removed. That's just my opinion, anyway, so removing the backgrounds for those pictures isn't necessary...at least, I don't think. BUT while we're on the subject of background removal and you being so generous, could you remove the background for this? :D Hehehe, thanks! --00:35, 25 February 2012 (EST)
Well if that's the case, I'll leave those Brawl images like they are for now and continue focusing on the trophies. As for the Anniversary image, yeah that's no problem. For an image like that its just a matter of seconds. :) Bakeneko 02:10, 25 February 2012 (EST)

File:AoL GBA US Box.jpg

This file still has some vandalism on its description page, and for some reason it will not let me save my edit to replace it with a delete tag, or even to mention that on its talk page.KrytenKoro 13:55, 29 February 2012 (EST)

Also, there is still a wealth of images that the vandal uploaded that need to be deleted.
Also also, is there a way for me to turn off the timer on my edit screen so that I can use Ctrl+Z again? The way the timer works, it counts as an non-undoable action.KrytenKoro 13:58, 29 February 2012 (EST)
I already reported the problem at the Milk Bar (we can't edit or delete files at this moment), so we'll have to wait until the problem is fixed to delete the images the vandal uploaded. :/ --Dany36 14:49, 29 February 2012 (EST)

User Log

Why is my user log telling me that you deleted my user-id on the 29th of February because of vandalism? Have I done something wrong? SkullJ 15:54, 6 March 2012 (EST)

No, someone vandalized your user page and placed inappropriate comments on it, so I deleted it to revert the vandalism. --Dany36 15:57, 6 March 2012 (EST)
Ok, thanks now I understand what was going on, sorry if I hadn't recognized it. But this situation makes me think, that I'll soon start to create my user page. SkullJ 22:03, 10 March 2012 (EST)

Something I'd like to run by an admin.

Here's something I've been thinking of for a while. On the Mechanized and Inorganic enemy list several "enemies" are mere traps. So I was thinking we should create a seperate list for traps and hazards. It would organize the Mechanized and Inorganic enemy list and shorten it up as well. What are your thoughts on this? --Heroofstuff 21:13, 6 March 2012 (EST)

Sounds like a good idea. Maybe you should run it by Hyrule Castle to see what other folks think, too! :) --Dany36 11:18, 7 March 2012 (EST)
Okay thanks--Heroofstuff 16:28, 7 March 2012 (EST)

ALttP Item icons

On the issue of transparencies on these icons; personally I think that assuming an outline where there isn't one doesn't really work with these icons very well. Its not so bad for some, but for others, like the Hookshot here File:Hookshot_Sprite_LttP.gif looks very wrong to me. I've already uploaded the actual sprites of all the items (which do have outlines and workable transparency without having to guess) here Items in A Link to the Past, but there isn't one for the green clothes (we could just use a sprite of Link to show that, or I do have a version of the Blue or Red Mail sprite with the green pallette but I edited that myself so its not "official"). I was thinking of having a second set of images below those ones, like the Items in The Legend of Zelda page, but with the icons (or maybe I should just focus on doing an artwork section as I've been uploading better quality art versions recently). I think the black background icons look fine if they're used as thumbnails. For instance, this is how the Hookshot icon SHOULD look... :File:Hookshoticon.png

I just figure that if we have perfectly usable sprites for the rest, we shouldn't use fan-created stuff for the icons when its not necessary. You pretty much have to guess where the outlines are and while some are fine, a lot of them end up looking weird to me. Its like when someone takes a sprite from Super Mario Bros. and puts an outline on it. It just looks wrong, you know? Some sprites were never meant to have outlines. Those icons would look fine in a gallery section or as thumbnails on the bottom of pages; and we have transparent versions of all the others for use articles themselves now. Anyway, that was my thinking when I reuploaded that pic... Thoughts? Fizzle (talk) 07:28, 9 March 2012 (EST)

I'm not sure what the big deal is... I guess I don't see anything particularly "wrong" with the hookshot icon, and the tunic image having a completely black background would just look silly considering it's used in the ALttP section of the Tunic article. I have to say whoever did them did a pretty good job. :P --Dany36 13:55, 9 March 2012 (EST)
Oh come on, the Hookshot one looks like arse! :P For one thing they actually messed up the hook, just compare the two. And as for the Tunic article, that one should be updated with the better sprites now they're on the wiki. The icons are not sprites, after all, they're used as icons; even when in the top left of the screen in the game they have a black background, or when throwing them into the ponds. At no point in the game do they ever appear with outlines. Plus they're all inconsistent! Look at this. File:CaneofSomaria ALttP.png Black outline... File:MagicBottle ALttP.png Black outline, black interior. File:ALttP Medicine of Life Inventory Sprite.png No outline, empty interior (except the top). File:Magicmedicine.gif No outline, black interior. I dunno, they're just all over the place, and since we actually have sprites now, I figured we might as well just replace them with the ACTUAL items rather than effectively editing the icons themselves. If the green tunic is an issue, I created this... :File:LADX Green Clothes Sprite.png It doesn't actually appear in the game, but if it did, it would presumably look like that.
Wait, also I just had a thought. If you're not liking the black squares, how about this? I just threw it together. :File:Bow&ArrowsALttPicon.png
Sorry to be a pain on this, I guess it just bugs me to see the inconsistencies, plus I spent time getting the nice 16-bit sprites it seems a bit silly to pretend that the two-colour icon images are proper sprites. Fizzle (talk) 08:35, 10 March 2012 (EST)
The icon for the Bow and Arrows looks a lot better, and I'd go with that if it's possible. --Dany36 12:57, 10 March 2012 (EST)
Cool, I agree. Sorry, I'm just OCD about these things, like a bit of consistency, haha. I'll see if I can make others if I have time. Its not a big deal either way, just one of those little things. Fizzle (talk) 20:02, 10 March 2012 (EST)

My page was deleted

Hello. I just noticed that apparently, my page was deleted on vandalism grounds. If something I did accounts for vandalism, please specify, and I'll make sure, to the best of my ability, that it doesn't happen again. I was also wondering if there is any way I could get my page back? Thanks for taking the time to read this, and I look forward to hearing from you!TriForce64 15:32, 12 March 2012 (EDT)TriForce64

It's not your fault, actually. Someone vandalized your user page and placed inappropriate comments on it, so I deleted it to revert the vandalism. You can create the page again by merely editing it again like a normal page. --Dany36 15:36, 12 March 2012 (EDT)
Alright! Thanks! TriForce64 15:41, 12 March 2012 (EDT)TriForce64

Groose wiki?

What has happened to the wiki? User:Pakkun has renamed all the game pages with Groose's name. Jeangabin 21:07, 31 March 2012 (EDT)

It's for April 1st?? I don't think it's a good idea to rename all the page and protect only for one day joke. Jeangabin 21:13, 31 March 2012 (EDT)
No worries! It's just for one day, no big deal. They can easily be reverted. :) --Dany36 21:16, 31 March 2012 (EDT)
I know. April Fool's is already over. Please note that when I go here, I get the following error:
There is currently no text in this page, you can search for this page title in other pages or edit this page.
So, the site is back to normal again. Thanks! --Cuddles (Sit next door) 22:14, 7 June 2012 (EDT)

Talkback

Hey, Dany36. You might want to comment in this discussion. Since no-one replied to this discussion for a reasonable amount of time, you might want to participate in the discussion. --Cuddles (Sit next door) 00:40, 7 June 2012 (EDT)

It's ok! We usually give a few days (sometimes weeks!) for people to give their input before taking any big actions like these. Since folks can be busy with other things, not everything can be resolved within a day, so patience is key here! :) --Dany36 14:06, 7 June 2012 (EDT)
Also this discussion was not responded for too long. Please reply there. --Cuddles (Sit next door) 02:00, 11 June 2012 (EDT)

Infobox Order

I saw you stated "ordered by date that these things we released" do you want this to go with the info box as well or simply the meat of the article? --Shadow Reaper 21:48, 25 June 2012 (EDT)

Yeah, we usually place the canon games by release date, which should also apply by the non-canon appearances part of the infobox. Thanks! :) --Dany36 10:31, 26 June 2012 (EDT)
Okay thanks Dany36, I wanted to find out as so as possible in of like halve way throught when I got a thousand reedits. Thanks agian :D --Shadow Reaper 19:26, 26 June 2012 (EDT)

Proper way of making images transparent?

How do I properly make images from the Legend of Zelda series and game transparent? Because you reverted my reupload, what is the proper way of making images transparent? --Cuddles (Sit next door) 01:41, 30 June 2012 (EDT)

It was actually I who reverted it. We happen to have tutorials on path rendering, so you could try to familiarize yourself with that. Just get a feel for editing and paying attention to detail. :) - TonyT S C 02:00, 30 June 2012 (EDT)
It be better if a mask was used. I might suggest using Adobe Photo Elements or Photoshop to make a layer mask to make some parts transparent that you don't want. I'm sure it will work more better.--Brandondorf9999 02:09, 30 June 2012 (EDT)

Would you mind deleting this

This has been on the deletion list for a while and both myself and Hylian King think it should go. See for yourself (Template:PropellerEnemy} I've already removed the template from the respective enemy list. Thanks in advance :D --Shadow Reaper 19:31, 1 July 2012 (EDT)

Thanks Dany :D--Shadow Reaper 19:37, 1 July 2012 (EDT)
No prob! :) --Dany36 19:43, 1 July 2012 (EDT)

About the Magmanos trivia

They're not JUST hands, but they also have FIVE FINGERS!!!

...

Aw crud, that was a bad excuse. Anyway, just wanted to say sorry for that, I just thought they were similar because they popped out of the ground to get you, and the swirly lava pattern reminded me of the swirly darkness pattern of the Floormasters.

Anyway, Sorry again, I'll try to do better with stuff like that. TriforceSlash 10:55, 10 July 2012 (EDT)

Haha! Don't worry too much about it! XD I'm glad you didn't take it the wrong way, though. :) See you around! --Dany36 12:18, 10 July 2012 (EDT)

See you too! :) TriforceSlash 15:28, 10 July 2012 (EDT)

You've beaten Wind Waker 17 times?

Two questions on that. First question:

How in the heck did you finish it that many times?!

Second question:

How fast do you think you can beat it (On average) now that you've beaten it that many times? TriforceSlash 09:42, 11 July 2012 (EDT)

Bahaha. TWW came out in...2003, right? I was in middle school then, which meant I had waaaay too much free time in my hands. :P I was keeping count at one point in a notebook but...I lost track after 10 times and since I had beaten the game a couple of more times after that, I just guessed at 15 when I started this userpage. XD And ummm, I've never kept track on how fast it takes me to complete the game (since the game doesn't really keep track of it for you), but even then, it wouldn't be very fast. Every time I start a Zelda game, I like to get all pieces of heart, upgrades, etc. So...yeah. XD --Dany36 12:48, 11 July 2012 (EDT)

Ah, ok. I've only beaten it 5 or 6 times, and it takes me two days to beat it, I think. But I never get all the Pieces of Hearts, though I should in OoT...

Which you beat 87 times. WOW. I wish I had that much free time, it would help keep me from making mistakes in my Zelda comics (Unproffessional, badly drawn comics). Like how Sheik shows up in the forest temple :/ Anyway, nice chatting with you! TriforceSlash 14:03, 11 July 2012 (EDT)
