Multiple edits

Hello! I noticed you've been making a lot of edits to the same page over a short time. Doing this puts a large strain on our server and clogs up the recent changes. So instead of saving a lot, use the "show preview" button next to the "save page" button. It'll allow you to view your edit for any mistakes so you don't have to make a lot of fixing edits or additional ones! :) — Hylian King [*] 21:42, 1 February 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Thanks! Will do :) - SuperSonicConzor

Cool! One more thing: if you type four tildes (~~~~) at the end of your post it automatically generates a signature, so you don't have to be typing it out yourself. Signing this way is important because it also generates a timestamp which lets people know when the post was made. — Hylian King [*] 16:13, 3 February 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Thanks :) SuperSonicConzor 16:15, 3 February 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Hi again! Just a friendly reminder to keep using that preview button. It's important that everyone edits efficiently so that the page histories and the recent changes are kept neat and tidy. It also makes our job easier as staff when we patrol edits.
Other than that, keep up the good work! — Hylian King [*] 21:52, 7 August 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Cool, thanks! Sorry about all those edits- sometimes new things keep coming to me and other times I have to rectify little mistakes! Thank you for changing the name of the JP Box art file by the way! :) SuperSonicConzor 21:55, 7 August 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]
No problem! It's part of my job. :P — Hylian King [*] 21:56, 7 August 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]

ALBW

Props for being so on-the-ball with the artwork, dude! Keep up the good work. — Hylian King [*] 11:58, 2 October 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Thank you! I'll always upload new artwork when possible! I just wish we had access to Nintendo's press room site so we wouldn't have to rely on the media sites who might upload lower res versions! SuperSonicConzor (talk) 16:07, 14 October 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]

About the ALBW artwork...

I noticed you uploaded some REALLY high res artwork lately, some of which is higher res than the ones found on GoNintendo's Flickr. Unless I'm missing something on their Flickr, did you find these somewhere else? If so, can you help me locate them too? I'd really appreciate it if possible. Thank you! User:Fizzle8094/sig 02:14, 8 October 2013 (UTC)

I found them on this Flickr Page! I don't think there's anything new there though. SuperSonicConzor (talk) 16:03, 14 October 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]

File talk:OoT3D 100% Item Subscreen.jpg

Would you mind taking a look at this? And if you're willing to redo the image, could you do it as png?KrytenKoro (talk) 21:10, 29 January 2014 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Yeah, I can do that. Also is there any advantage to having it as a png? The 3DS natively captures screenshots as jpg files and there wouldn't be an increase in quality by saving it as a png. Conzuh [T|C] 09:50, 30 January 2014 (UTC)Reply[reply]
If that's the case, then not really, no. If a working 3DS emulator comes out (or Nintendo changes the capture format to PNG), then it'll be easier to upload over it. Otherwise there are no advantages, as far as I know. — Hylian King [*] 10:27, 30 January 2014 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I've uploaded it. The comment was a bit cut off, so i'll paste it here: "Rearranged order. Uploaded as a JPG as even if a 3DS emulator were to come out in the future, the increase in quality from a PNG screenshot would not be noticeable. I think it's best that we upload these as JPGs as saving them again as another file format would probably further compress it, even if it was a PNG. Ultimately not my decision but if others think it's best to upload them as PNGs in future, that's what I'll do." Basically, it's your call, guys. I think what we've got is good. Conzuh [T|C] 16:38, 30 January 2014 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Bit late, but yeah: if .jpg is the natural screencapture format, .jpg is best. I just prefer .png if screenshots can be taken in the format.KrytenKoro (talk) 17:07, 30 January 2014 (UTC)Reply[reply]
So spice! Thanks, man!KrytenKoro (talk) 23:25, 31 January 2014 (UTC)Reply[reply]

MM3D gallery images

While the page does say "Gallery:Box Art", keep in mind that this page is also intended to list images that are of illustrations and collector's editions as well. The page is intended for ease of adding images to the game pages as it sorts them automatically. You'll see that other games, like OoT3D, also have illustration sections there as well. Please keep the poster and collector's edition images there, they do have a place on that page. -The Goron Moron (talk) 00:03, 6 November 2014 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I made a mistake removing the Collector's Edition, but I'm pretty sure that page isn't for art. There aren't any other illustrations on the page. Art for MM3D goes here: [1] Conzuh [T|C] 00:10, 6 November 2014 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Remakes are a special case here though. Remake games don't get their own gallery pages, as you'll notice on OoT3D's and TWWHD's pages. We instead utilize the box art page for sorting any additional art, and even screenshots, they may have. That said, we kind of don't need a separate gallery page for MM3D either. -The Goron Moron (talk) 00:15, 6 November 2014 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Remake games do get gallery pages. [2] [3] Conzuh [T|C] 00:25, 6 November 2014 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Okay then apparently they're not linked on their pages then. As it still stands, the remakes utilize the box art gallery page for listing several images. It's also only one illustration piece, not a full gallery's worth. I can inquire the rest of the staff for their thoughts. But to me personally, it's not really doing harm. -The Goron Moron (talk) 00:32, 6 November 2014 (UTC)Reply[reply]
It's a temporary measure until a member of staff adds MM3D to the Upload Form. Then the images can be tagged as MM3D and everything will be nice and organised. Otherwise, the box art page is for box art. Remember, we're going to need these pages when art for the game is eventually released on the press site. Conzuh [T|C] 00:35, 6 November 2014 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I'm more in favor of consistency, personally. If MM3D's gallery organization changes, then so will OOT3D's and TWWHD's as well. Because as of now, those pages do not list their gallery pages and instead utilize the box art gallery. I'll ask, maybe we'll do a vote on it on the DC. We'll see what happens. I'm only just saying for now. -The Goron Moron (talk) 00:40, 6 November 2014 (UTC)Reply[reply]

ALBW-Alphabet

Hi!
In the article Hylian Language you added that there is an official key from Nintendo that allows the translation of ALBWs hylian inscriptions. Can you please tell me, where you found this key? I already searched for it on google, but I couldn't find anything official, only Fan-made stuff.
(Sorry if my english is terrible. ^^) Madas (talk) 07:48, 27 December 2014 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Hey there! I assure you that this is official. Originally I found it at Nintendo Everything [4] but then Hylian King downloaded the full sized version from Nintendo's Press site. In addition, we've already used the key to translate some of ALBW's Hylian. You can find that at Hylian Language Translations/A Link Between Worlds. Conzuh [T|C] 17:03, 2 January 2015 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I know the translation articles and I don't cast doubt (or: "I cast no doubt"?...) on the keys correctness. :) But I want to expand the article about Hylian in a german Wiki and an official source would prove, that the keys characters are 100 % correct and look exactly like this. And it makes it easier for the reader to verify the informations veracity. Unfortunately the oldest entry on the Nintendo Press Site is from 10/7/14 and it seems, the site doesn't have an archive. Thanks anyway! ^^ Madas (talk) 03:28, 5 January 2015 (UTC)Reply[reply]
