Hyrule Castle Town

Hyrule Castle Town is the capital city of the Kingdom of Hyrule. The castle town is surrounded by a wall and moat and is accessible via drawbridge, operated by a Hyrulean Soldier stationed at the gate at all times. The adjacent guard house is manned by a single soldier who is able to keep tabs of activity in Hyrule Field in front of the gate. The main road beyond the gate leads to the market, a busy square filled with shoppers, vendors, and other townspeople as music and laughter fill the air. Those who are not wealthy enough or wish to avoid the city life live in the nearby Kakariko Village, a quieter town at the foot of Death Mountain. Hyrule Castle Town features several points of interest including the Temple of Time, the Happy Mask Shop, the Bazaar, and several other shops. A large fountain sits in the market square and spouts out fresh water from Lake Hylia. There are also several streets and alleyways where apartments are located for those who don't live in the main market square. Seven years into the future, Gandondorf attacks Hyrule Castle and the town, forcing the townsfolk to flee and many of the soldiers are killed. However, Link defeats Ganondorf and is able to prevent his deadly assault on Hyrule Kingdom. As is common over the years, Hyrule Castle was expanded and reconstructed, creating a new home for the Master Sword located in a chamber beneath the castle. Centuries later, after the Great Flood, the Kingdom was submerged under water though many of the citizens from the castle town and Kakariko Village found safe refuge of the tall mountaintops, thanks to the help of the Zoras. Link and Princess Zelda set out to find a new land for Hyrule after defeating Ganondorf once again. The new Kingdom of Hyrule was founded and a new castle town was built along with a new, much larger castle.

Clock Town

In search of his lost friend Navi, Link and Epona ride through the Lost Woods in Hyrule until they are ambushed by the Skull Kid. In pursuit, Link ends up in the parallel world of Termina, arriving in the city of Clock Town after passing through a portal while in the Lost Woods. The world of Termina and its residents have been plagued with various troubles, thanks to the Skull Kid who is under control of Majora's Mask. The evil power within the mask has even begun to gravitate the moon directly towards Clock Town, which would destroy the city and cause great devastation to Termina. Because of the impending doom, Clock Town is mostly empty when Link arrives, leaving behind mostly shopkeepers, public servants, and the Carnival of Time committee members. Most of the townspeople have already fled to other corners of Termina in search of refuge from the doomsday moon. In the end, after the town is saved from the doomsday moon, the remaining residents celebrate the Carnival of Time and celebrate good fortune and prosperity that's sure to come after surviving the threat of Majora's Mask. Several people belong to the Clock Town population but live beyond the city walls operating shops, tourist attractions, and research labs or residing in their private homes.

Theories

• The Skull Kid who bought the skull mask in OoT is the same Skull Kid in MM. He stated that Link smelled like the "fairy kid from the woods" indicating that they're the same Skull Kid.
• The friend Link went off looking for in MM in Navi. Navi randomly disappeared in the end of OoT and of course Link would go looking for her in the woods since that's where she lives which led to the events of MM.
• The gnarled Deku tree in the portal from Hyrule and Termina below the clock tower is the body of the Deku Mask's spirit that allows Link to turn into a Deku. It is also the Deku Butler's son as he can be seen mourning at where the Deku tree stands, deceased and frozen with a gloomy face.
• In The Wind Waker', Windfall Island is the mountain top of Kakariko Village. When the Great Flood came by, the villagers fled to the surrounding mountaintops and created a settlement as Kakariko was washed away. Plus, it is not far from Dragon Roost Island, which is Death Mountain, without a doubt. The two are in close proximity, just like Kakariko and Death Mountain. Last but not least, the Forest Haven is the remains of the Great Deku Tree! The tree was somehow moved into the hollowed out remnants and grew into the Deku Tree that is known in The Wind Waker. Quite obvious things, if you ask me.
• The Keaton Mask Soldier is the Graveyard Boy's father. The soldier asks for the Keaton Mask since his son wants it. The Graveyard Boy says he asks his dad for the mask (when showed the mask). The soldier is also posted right next to his home. I think we can make a conclusion that the two are related.

Timeline

Ok so apparently, there are two splits in the timeline which I did not know until last week. Wtf. However, I choose to stick with my own timeline. So here it is (starting at OoT which is canonically first).

• Link was a young boy in Ocarina of Time. After a sequence of events, he slept in time in order to weild the Master Sword and in the future, he awoken the seven sages to defeat Ganondorf and restore Hyrule. All was well after Ganondorf was defeated. Link went back to his original time (when he was a child) and things took off from there. Also, a new castle was built/remodeled in the time period between OoT and WW (around 100 or more years)
• With the disappearance of Navi after returning to his correct timeline, he went off to look for Navi with Epona in the Lost Woods. Meanwhile, a mischievous Skull Kid knocked out the Happy Mask Salesman and happened to steal Majora's Mask and was possessed. He then caused a lot of trouble in Termina, a parallel world. After an adventure, the Skull Kid was returned to normal, the Happy Mask Salesman went back to Hyrule and so did Link, to continue his life.
• Hundreds of years later, Ganondorf came back and attacked Hyrule. The people called for the Hero of Time but he was nowhere to be found. Hyrule Castle and the surrounding land was being invaded. So the Goddesses put a bubble over Hyrule and froze the invading Ganon forces and flooded the rest of the kingdom, with the Hylian race safely atop the land's mountains. There, new settlements were made, such as the towns of Windfall and Outset. The Deku Sprout grew into a tree inside the old Deku Tree which died in OoT (the Kikori moved the sprout into the tree to protect it from harm). The Kikori themselves evolved into Koroks and lived with the Deku Tree. Zoras live in the huge sea and the Gorons are probably in the mountains, with a few travelling as salesmen/merchants. Link saves the 'sea': defeats Ganon, rescues his sister and other kidnapped girls, helps the Koroks plant new trees to make forests, and the old Hyrule was finally destroyed. There, he, now the Hero of the Winds, sets out with Tetra (aka Princess Zelda) and her crew to seek out the NEW land of Hyrule (TP).
• After the events of PH, the new kingdom of Hyrule (New Hyrule) was founded and it expanded greatly, esp after the events of SP. New locations were named after the old Kakariko Village, Death Mountain, Hyrule Castle Town, Lake Hylia, etc. The events of TP take a few hundred years after WW.
