Template talk:Timeline

Since the content of some pages is outdated I think the template should be changed to include a new category, named Archive for example that will include the following pages: Game Grouping and Plot Arcs, Deku Tree's Success, Ganon Conflicts, Oracle Confusion and Split Timeline Disciplines. Thoughts? Zeldafan1982 22:01, 10 November 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Well I do agree that we shouldn't be leaving these articles as is. Maybe instead of them being "part of a series on the Zelda Timeline", they could be "part of a series on Timeline Theorizing" or something. We could add a note to the pages explaining that the articles consist of an archive that represents the state of the timeline as it stood before HH was released... — Hylian King [*] 12:04, 11 November 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I think maybe moving the pages to "Timeline Theories/Canonical Analysis and Game Grouping", "Timeline Theories/Split Timeline Disciplines", "Timeline Theories/Oracle Confusion", and "Timeline Theories/Deku Tree's Success". Probably "Timeline Theories/Timeline Abbreviations" as well. Timeline Glossary could probably be turned into a general glossary or moved to "Timeline Theories/Timeline Glossary". These should then be flagged with something like this IMO. Then I think Canonical Material should probably be merged into Zelda Wiki:Canon Policy, since they both essentially fill the same role. Ganon Conflicts still has two unanswered questions, even if most of what is currently there is now answered: what is the relationship between Light Arrows and Silver Arrows, and what is the relationship between the Dark World and Twilight Realm? However, it may be a better idea to put this on a page of another name; e.g. "Open Questions". Hylian Cosmology could use a little cleaning, but there are still things it mentions that are relevant. Timeline Quotes I'm not really sure what should be done to. --SnorlaxMonster 18:41, 11 November 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Yeah, that sounds like a much better idea, actually. As for the quotes... "History of the Zelda Timeline/Developer Quotes", maybe? Also, the unexplained phenomena of the Zelda series would make a fantastic topic, but might more befitting of a WikiExclusive than a mainspace article...
On another subject, we still don't have anything on the discrepancies of the official timeline. Last time I checked there were plenty of those... — Hylian King [*] 21:17, 11 November 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Yes, the pages should definitely have a tag, it could be more "neutral" though; not everything contained within the aforementioned pages is disproved, "obsolete material" or "outdated material" maybe. "Timeline theories" as a location seems fine to me too. The template could be changed though to include a new section or at least a single link to a page which would point to those pages.
Regarding the Ganon conflicts page: 1) The Twilight Realm is not a mirror realm as is the case with the ALttP and the FSA Dark Worlds. 2) The light arrows are different from the silver arrows and this is also mentioned in the respective pages. If there is anything on that page that is not present elsewhere then we can add it. I just don't find the article really informative so I think it should be archived as well.
"As for the quotes... "History of the Zelda Timeline/Developer Quotes", maybe?" Sounds fine! Zeldafan1982 00:41, 12 November 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I don't think this is quite the issue you guys are discussing, but I feel that any timeline theory stuff should definitely be in the Community namespace.KrytenKoro (talk) 05:01, 3 February 2014 (UTC)Reply[reply]
