Russian Toys?

I've been doing a bit of research to the Yeti's Japanse names, and I think they, and some of their appearance, may both be based on Russian toys. With Yeta, theis is probably no surprise. "Matōnya" looks a lot like "Matryona", after which the Matryoshka dolls are named. This would account for her face/head shape, overall form and lack of arms. In the same vein with Yeto, "Dosankov" could be based on "Dymkovo". The details of Yeto's fur and the huge tail would seem to be appropriate for the toys, but the lack of color has me doubting. So, I'd like to hear others' thoughts on the likeness the Yetis are designed around Russian toys. IfIHaveTo 03:36, 16 September 2010 (EDT)

Aahhh, but you didn't say you wanted to use that information for its inclusion in the article =P. Okay, read well: When Yeta turns into Blizzeta, its first form is that of a Matryoshka doll, not only in shape but also because of the outer designs of the icy creature. Also, consider that the Yeti live in Snowpeak, a place as cold as Russia itself, and both places are deep north of their respective locations (Hyrule and Eurasia, respectively). "Fluent in Hylian?"

So far, both Yeto and Yeta talk in broken Hylian, so I don't see why there's any reason to say Yetis are fluent in Hylian. Dekler 11:57, 29 October 2012 (UTC)

Nonetheless, they are the only two Yeti known in the games so far, so I see no reason to say that every Yeti is fluent in Hylian except for some who speak in a broken Hylian accent. I'm going to change it to "Yetis seem to speak in broken Hylian". After all, I'd hardly call them fluent if they make grammatical errors in every sentence.Dekler 11:57, 29 October 2012 (UTC)

Yeta not wearing a blanket.

I see no reason to believe Yeta is wearing a blanket, because it merges too well with her body to the point where she can sled down a hill while keeping it wrapped around her. Furthermore, it might've been smart for her to wear a blanket when she was sick, but if you visit Yeto and Yeta again, she seems to have fully recovered yet she still looks the same. Yeah, it's clear she's no longer sick after you beat Blizetta, and she's even out "sledding" with Yeto. If it was a blanket she wears because she's cold, she wouldn't be outside in middle of the cold in the first place. I'm pretty sure they gave her fur that pattern and droopy look so that she would give off the vibe of a sick person with a cold wearing a blanket to go with the fact that she's sick and being taken care of when you first meet her, but it's still just her fur. Although I agree that this sentence (let alone the whole page) must be re-wrote, I must say that upon closer inspection of Yeta's model, you can clearly see that is it not her fur. You can see some hair coming out from underneath it. MannedTooth (talk) 07:03, 7 March 2018 (UTC)
