After reading through Hyrule Historia, I noticed that the "World of the Ocean King" is referred to as the "Waters of the Ocean King". Considering that it is named "World" in game once, yet "Waters" multiple times in Hyrule Historia, I'm not quite sure what this page should be called. The main reason for this is the box at the bottom of page 131, which specifically names the place as "Waters", rather than the other, less specific references on the page. Should we move this page or leave it as it is? Dannyboy601Talk 13:00, 17 March 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Hmm...would Hyrule Historia take more importance over in-game stuff? I mean, I don't really mind if we move it Waters of the Ocean King, but we're gonna have to come up with some sort of policy on this so we can be consistent. Could you get two quotes from the book calling it "Waters of the Ocean King" so we can at least have the name in the article while a decision is made? Thanks! --Dany36 15:50, 17 March 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]
In-game names have always taken precedence over other official works here at ZW. For starters, it's fair to assume that readers will most likely know things by their in-game name regardless of how little it's used. (Although Hyrule Historia is a New York Times bestseller, I'm fairly certain that it hasn't outsold any Zelda titles, except maybe FSA.) Also, the actual games are the highest source of canon. HH is official, but we need to keep in mind that the translation wasn't done in-house by Nintendo. For that reason, any names from material that is published in-house (i.e. the manuals and the Nintendo Power guides) should probably take precedence over HH names.
That said, "World of the Ocean King" is a bit of a conjecture. The W isn't capitalized in-game so it's kinda wrong to be calling it that. I'm nitpicking here but we really should be saying "world of the Ocean King" instead. A lot of other pages on the wiki are wrongly capitalized, but that's another can of worms. — Hylian King [*] 22:08, 17 March 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]
You raise a few fair points; in-game text is as canon as you can get. Still, the way that Ciela uses the word "world" is rather vague. She could just be referring to the realm or dimension in which the Ocean King resides, whereas HH makes it clear that it's referring to the specific location. Once again, I'd like to point out the box on page 131, which has a header, "THE WATERS OF THE OCEAN KING", followed by a description, "A great sea composed of four territories." The same format is also used to describe other locations such as Koholint Island and the Dark World, making me believe that this is the closest thing that we have to an official name.
