Either I need a walkthrough or...

ToweroftheGodsGlitch1.png

I was playing The Wind Waker and was at the second Command Statue in the Tower of the Gods. I used the Grappling Hook to get across the chasm, went up to the statue, and played the Command Melody. The statue was in plain sight, as you can see on the image, and the game told me that nothing was nearby that I could control. I attacked the pillar, went around playing the Command Melody in several areas, fell into a chasm, exited and reentered, and the same thing happened. I finally watched a walkthrough, and... a cutscene is supposed to trigger? Nothing happened anything like that. I might have swung the rope too far and bypassed the trigger area, but I doubt it. Unless I missed something, I think that my game might be broken. (But it isn't) User:Darkness/sig 00:38, 26 March 2013 (UTC)

Note: The problem with the left screenshot is that I don't think you can view the inactivated statue on a inactivated pedestal from this distance- it'd only be possible on the other side of the room.

You're supposed to press R to call it down from the pillar first. It says so on the a nearby stone tablet, I believe. — Hylian King [*] 01:04, 26 March 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Oh.... Oops. I had given up on it. I watched a Walkthrough, and I didn't notice it, but maybe I just missed it. I really didn't mean to ask for help in the game... Sorry about that. But are you sure there's a stone tablet there? I didn't notice in either the actual game or the three walkthroughs I watched... Sorry. User:Darkness/sig 11:48, 26 March 2013 (UTC)

Cleanup needed

I think some of these need to be cleaned up a bit. A few of the glitches listed seem to be either missing words from the description or are too conversational. I'm not very well versed with using glitches in this game, so if there is someone who is who can make this page a little more readable, I would be most appreciative. --KingStarscream (talk) 18:36, 5 September 2014 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Which ones for example? I know quite a bit. - PPLToast (talk) 19:17, 5 September 2014 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I don't really know, there's a few bad ones, but it's not that bad. What I don't understand though is that a way way more cancerous page like the OoT glitch page doesn't even have an improve tag ._. - PPLToast (talk) 08:05, 6 September 2014 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Outset island before Greatfish island (potential glitch activation?)

I was playing wind waker hd and I decided to stop at Outset Island before I went to Greatfish Island and I healed Link's grandma and she gave me elixir soup, have I glitched up the game or has anyone else done this with any ill repercussions? --Dayle14 (talk) 14:24, 23 May 2015 (UTC)Reply[reply]

The "sick grandma" event is a separate event from the Jabun sequence. There's no glitch involved; the game was designed to allow the player to return to Outset Island as soon as they have the second pearl, and events were distributed accordingly. --Shiningpikablu252 (talk) 16:32, 23 May 2015 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Another glitch that hasn't been mentioned yet

There is another glitch in the WindWaker that hasn't been mentioned on this Wiki yet: the Back in Time Glitch. This is different from the HD Edition, and it's easy to set up. The glitch is activated as follows: when you die and get Game Over, choose not to save the game when prompted, but choose yes when asked if you want to continue playing. While the screen fades to black, reset your console before the game re-spawns Link. If done correctly, you will be able to control Link on the Title Screen. The actions you can perform depend on where you perform the glitch. Keep in mind that Link will be wearing his Outset pajamas, his voice is completely absent, and you won't be able to attack any enemies, since your inventory is completely empty. While testing the glitch, I've found a couple things: 1. You can keep the glitch if you perform it in Ganon's Tower; if you're fast enough to open the door into the main room with the Boss Re-fight gauntlet, you won't continue on to the File Select Screen, which would end the glitch. Be careful not to fall into the lava here, since the game is unable to properly re-spawn Link, soft-locking the game and forcing a soft reset, ending the glitch. 2. If you die and get Game Over during the glitch, an oddity can occur if you save the game; it won't cause a corrupted save file like in Skyward Sword, but it skips the cut-scene at the beginning of the game, as well as the cut-scene in the area you got Game Over in the glitch when you load the save file for the first time, but it doesn't matter whether or not you choose to continue playing from there, since it ends the glitch. Because the cut-scene at the beginning doesn't play, every time you're on Outset Island, the intro part of the theme plays when you exit a house or when you load the save file when you last saved on Outset Island. It's an easy glitch to perform, and it can be fun to mess around using it. I know this was a long comment, but I think it was worth it.
