Merge-worthy?

There seems to be a lot of incongruency throughout the wiki in crediting quotations to this individual, with many people refering to the Ocarina of Time character as "Cucco Lady" and others using her Majora's Mask name, "Anju" (see pages such as Cojiro, Grog, Cucco, and so forth). Because this section is small, it seems easy enough to merge this page with the longer one for Anju and redirect the Cucco Lady searches to the Anju page. While I realize they are technically two different characters, it might aid in navigation and ease confusion. It'll make editing less of a pain, for sure. =P Thoughts? We merged Guru-Guru's and Grog's appearances into one page, so I don't see why we can't do the same for Anju. And those inconsistencies are really annoying. I agree with the merge. :) Dany36 16:19, 2 May 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I'm OK for this merge. Jeangabin 12:10, 2 June 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
What happened with the merge? Drillzer (talk) 01:52, 26 March 2019 (UTC)Reply[reply]
It happened, then policy changed and it was undone. TriforceTony (talk) 02:31, 26 March 2019 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Wait, why would they be split again? The fact that the Anju from TMC is closer to this character than MM Anju (being a cucco handler, as opposed to an inn keeper), yet is named Anju, shows that they're considered the same character by Nintendo. Drillzer (talk) 14:11, 26 March 2019 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Those are but speculations, as Nintendo officially announced it, Anju is not the Cucco Lady, despite sharing the same model. Whereas Anju from TMC is still "Anju". MannedTooth (talk) 06:21, 27 March 2019 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I mean that they're the same character but different incarnations, in the same way that all Beedle incarnations are Beedle despite being separate people in-universe. TMC Anju is closer to the Cucco Lady than MM Anju, so I think it feels wrong to have her in the Anju article but not here. Drillzer (talk) 12:15, 27 March 2019 (UTC)Reply[reply]
The policy is that characters who may look alike but have different names are split from each other. A case could be made for merging Tarin, Talon, Mr. Barten, and Milk Bar Owner given that they are essentially the same character in different circumstances (which is further complicated by Ingo, Gorman, the Gorman Brothers, and the other Milk Bar Owner also sharing a commonality). The policy was put in place so it's simpler to distinguish them by name. We also make heavy use of the counterpart field in the infobox (and the See Also section) to make sure people are finding what they need from a quick glance. I see your point, when you put it like that. That policy is probably for the best. Drillzer (talk) 15:28, 29 March 2019 (UTC)Reply[reply]
