Snowfield Stable is a recurring location in The Legend of Zelda series.[1][2]

Features and Overview

Breath of the Wild

Snowfield Stable is a Stable that lies on the S. Tabantha Snowfield in the Tabantha Tundra, marking the northern end of the Hilltop High Road. Rin Oyaa Shrine can be found in a cave near, which makes a convenient Travel Gate to the Stable when activated. Snowfield Stable is operated by Varke, who runs both its Horse-boarding services and Inn.[3][4] Harlow and Monkton are both employed as workers for the Stable. The Stable's Cooking Pot is owned by Darton, though he allows other travelers to us it.[5] A poster showing a Recipe for Spicy Mushroom Rice Balls hangs on the northern wall inside the Stable. Since Snowfield Stable is located within a Freezing Climate, Link requires at least two levels of Cold Resistance to visit without taking damage.

As with all other Stables, Beedle can be found at Snowfield Stable selling his wares. Two other Merchants, Kanny and Yammo, also stop at the Stable. The travelers Baumar, his Horse Bamboo, Nazbi, his Horse Dauntless, and Falmark all rest at the Stable during their journeys, as well.

When staying at Snowfield Stable, Link can choose to rest in either a regular Bed for 20 Rupees or a soft Bed for 40 Rupees.[6] Varke explains that the soft Bed leaves its users feeling more energized when they wake up.[7] If Link decides to stay at the Stable, Varke offers to wake him up in the morning, at noon, or in the evening.[8] Once Link makes his choice, Varke will send him off to sleep.[9][10] When Link wakes up, Varke will greet him.[11][12][13] By sleeping in the soft Bed}, Link will receive a bonus Heart when he wakes up.

Juannelle, a resident of Snowfield Stable, has come to the Tabantha Tundra in search of information about Stalhorses, but she is unable to withstand the Freezing Climate.[14] As part of the "Stalhorse: Pictured!" Side Quest, she asks Link to take a Picture of one on her behalf.[15] Once Link returns with the Picture, Juannelle will reward him with a Silver Rupee.[16]

A total of three Hylian Retrievers reside at Snowfield Stable. When Link befriends the patterned Retrievers, they will lead him to a metal Treasure Chest southwest of the Stable, which contains a Star Fragment.[17] If Link befriends the black Retriever, it leads him to another metal Chest north of the Stable, within which Link can find a Feathered Spear.[17]
