Sacred Windmill

Sacred Windmills are objects in Phantom Hourglass.[1]

Locations and Uses

Of the eight windmills in total scattered in the northern section of the Isle of Gust, three are designated as Sacred Windmills by a map found in the northwestern corner of the island. In order for Link to gain access to the Temple of Wind, the young hero must blow on the three Windmills to start them spinning.[2] However, he must do so while looking out for the Sandworms that are situated in the area, who will swallow up Link if he makes any noise while walking.

Once Links finally activates all three Sacred Windmills, the doors to the temple will open, and the gust statues impeding the path to the entrance will stop blowing.

Although the other windmills on the island are not referred to as Sacred Windmills, they share the same appearance. Several more windmills are placed throughout the Temple of Wind. Link must make them spin by blowing in their direction to open doors within the Temple.
