"Recovering the Hero's Sword" is a Main Quest in Tears of the Kingdom.[1]

Overview

After Link views "The Master Sword's Power" Memory during the "Trail of the Master Sword" Main Quest, the Great Deku Tree notices that he is no longer carrying the Master Sword.[2] Although Link does not know where it is, the Great Deku Tree is able to sense its power.[3] From the Map, the Great Deku Tree is able to show Link where the Master Sword is currently located.[4] However, he notices that it appears to be moving through the Sky.[5] The Great Deku Tree urges Link to hurry, since the Master Sword is waiting for him.[6] After this conversation, "Recovering the Hero's Sword" will begin.[note 1]

By following the Marker on the Map, Link can find the Master Sword embedded in the head of the Light Dragon. When he attempts to pull it out, the Light Dragon will suddenly roar and begin flying erratically. In order to keep his grip, Link will require at least two Stamina Wheels. If he manages to stay on the Light Dragon's head, she will calm down and bring him higher into the Sky. The fur around the Master Sword will loosen, and Link will be able to reclaim it. With its blade restored, Link then views the "Zelda's Wish" Memory.

Following the Memory, Link disembarks from the Light Dragon at the Temple of Time on the Great Sky Island. At this point, "Recovering the Hero's Sword"s will be completed.
