Lonni is a recurring character in The Legend of Zelda series.[1][2]
Biography
Breath of the Wild
Lonni is a Hylian who travels between South Akkala Stable and a small shelter southeast of Tarrey Town, walking along the Torin Wetland on her way. While she is east of the Wetland, she follows the Kaepora Pass. She carries a Hunter's Shield and a Traveler's Sword.
Often, Lonni is confused for a Gerudo or Merchant by other travelers, which confuses her.[3][4] Like many Gerudo, Lonni is traveling in search of love, but she feels that her love of Monsters has been scaring away potential candidates.[5][6][7] When Link talks to her, she will be surprised, as she believes she is not as interesting as a Gerudo or a Monster.[8] As she walks, she will occasionally claim that she needs to find someone to date.[9][10]
Lonni is familiar with a variety of Monsters. For example, she informs Link that most Octoroks will drown if they are dropped in Water, the only exception being the Water Octorok.[11][12] She also shares directions to the East Akkala Stable, though she warns Link that he would encounter strong Monsters on his way there.[13]
In particular, Lonni appreciates Stalnoxes.[14] She hopes that she will find someone who loves Monsters as much as she does, so they can talk about Stalnoxes all night.[15] When she is near the East Akkala Plains, she claims to have heard about a large Monster in the area, referring to the nearby Stalnox.[16] However, she does not have enough information to track it down.[17] She occasionally remarks on this Stalnox, stating that she gets so excited when she thinks about it that she starts to shake.[18][19]
Aside from Monsters, Lonni is also interested in the Great Fairy that can be found in Akkala. She shares a rumor that the Great Fairy can bring someone happiness with a single glance.[20][21] She has also heard that she can enhance people's clothes.[22] In addition to this, she also has learned that a lot of treasure was left behind in Hyrule Castle, though she is more excited about the Monsters that have taken up residence within it.[23]
While she travels, Lonni will remark on the Weather or the time. Her favorite time of day is the morning.[24] During the night, she remarks that it is a good time to encounter Monsters.[25] If it Rains, she will run for shelter, commenting that the Weather is bad.[26] Once she is safe, she claims that she does not mind having to hide out, since it gives her a chance to meet someone in a romantic setting.[27]
If Lonni is attacked by Monsters or Maraudo Wolves, she will run away in fear.[28][29][30][31][32][33][34] During the attack, she states that while she loves Monsters, she hopes they will be struck by Lightning so she does not have to deal with them.[35] If Link saves her, she will be relieved.[36][37] She may also wonder if this could be a destined encounter between them.[38] In addition, she might claim that this was the last day of her journey.[39] As a reward, she gives an Energizing Honeyed Apple or Rupees.[40]
