The following is a large list of all the known glitches that can be performed in Tears of the Kingdom. Each glitch will come with instructions on what the glitch does, how to perform the glitch, and if the glitch has been patched (i.e. fixed) or not.

Duplication Glitches

Air Duplication Method

This glitch was patched in version 1.1.2.
Air Duplication Method
Effect
Duplicates any 1 to 5 Materials in the Inventory.
Requirements
None
Instructions
Be in the air, then open the Inventory and hold any number of Materials. Then, press B and Y at the exact same time to leave the Inventory and sort it at the same time. The amount of Materials in your Inventory doesn't change, but it still drops the Materials you held on the ground, effectively duplicating the items you held.
Notes
  • Using the Paraglider, jumping with a Wing Shield, or performing the glitch in a low-gravity area can allow you to duplicate Materials multiple times in a row, depending on how long you fall for.
  • Riding on Mineru's Construct counts as being in the air, allowing for the glitch to be performed extremely quickly. Materials dropped can also be immediately picked back up.
  • A maximum of 21 Materials can be dropped on the ground at once. If any more are dropped, the oldest will start to despawn.
  • The same duplication can be performed on Zonai devices, albeit differently: Have the camera and Link stand close to the wall with some distance apart (about half a meter), and bring up the Zonai Devices menu, select any item you wish to duplicate, Y+B, and if performed successfully, a message appears "You can't take that out here", and thus gets re-added back into Link's inventory.
  • When performing duplication in midair, be careful that items that react on impact will explode (e.g Bomb Flower, gems, Muddlebuds, Puffshrooms) or becomes an entity that cannot be collected (e.g Brightbloom seeds).

Save/Load Duplication

This glitch was patched in version 1.1.2.
Save/Load Duplication
Effect
Duplicates any weapon, bow or shield Link has.
Requirements
None
Instructions
Equip the item you wish to dupe, and save the game. Drop that item, and equip another one. Press the + button twice in quick succession, drop the second item and reload the save. A copy of the first item should be on the ground, giving you another one.
Notes
  • You don't actually need to save when doing this glitch, reloading an existing save works too. However, since the item appears at the coordinates where Link was when he dropped it, reloading an old save likely means it'll appear miles away from Link's current location, making it impossible to reach before the item despawns/

Master Sword Not Found (MSNF)

This glitch was patched in version 1.1.2.
Master Sword Not Found
Effect
Lets Link keep the Master Sword from the intro, giving him a 30 power weapon with infinite durability.
Requirements
None
Instructions
Go to the In-isa Shrine, and manually save the game. Next, head to the title screen, and start a new file, getting an auto save before the Ganondorf cutscene in the process. Head back to the file inside the shrine, and take the rocks near the start to the edge of the area with the Fire Fruit trees.

Place them near the wall, stand on top of one of the rocks, and do the Save/Load Duplication glitch with any weapon.

Load the autosave from the prologue. You'll find the weapon you dropped on the stairs leading to the Ganondorf cutscene. Pick it up to access to the inventory.

Now, do the Save/Load Duplication glitch again with the Master Sword here, and load the file from inside the shrine. The glitched Master Sword will now be present near the Fire Fruit trees, and can be collected like any other weapon.

Notes
  • This Master Sword doesn't have a name, and displays 'MessageNotFound' in the inventory.
  • The Fuse ability cannot be used on it without additional glitches.
  • Unlike the normal Master Sword, it can be dropped or thrown, but still cannot be placed in a weapon stand.

Rock Octorok Duplication

This glitch has not been patched.
Rock Octorok Duplication
Effect
Duplicates any weapon using a Rock Octorok
Requirements
None
Instructions
Find a Rock Octorok, and place the weapon you wish to dupe in front of it. When the Octorok sucks in the weapon, use Recall on it just before the enemy eats it. If done correctly, the weapon should fall on the floor, but the Octorok will chew on and spit out a copy of said weapon, giving you two of them.
Notes
  • This can be done once per Octorok each Blood Moon cycle.

Weapon Stand Duplication

This glitch has not been patched.
Weapon Stand Duplication
Effect
Duplicates any weapon using a Weapon Stand in Link's House
Requirements
None
Instructions
Go to Link's House, and place a Shock Emitter in front of the stand you wish to use. Switch on the Shock Emitter by hitting it. Then, go into the beam of electricity, and place A to place the item in the stand at the same time Link gets eletrocuted. The item will both appear in the stand, and on the floor at the same time, duplicating it.
Notes
  • The weapon directly after the cloned one will be removed from the inventory, meaning it's best the player has the relevant item in the final slot in its category.

Unloading Item Duplication

This glitch has been patched.
Unloading Item Duplication
Effect
Duplicates materials by shooting them between loading zones near the Tobio's Hollow chasm.
Requirements
None
Instructions
Go to the Tobio's Hollow Chasm, and stand near the entrance to the Depths there, at roughly these coordinates:

1021, -2261, -0156

Equip a multishot bow

Then fuse the material you want to clone to an arrow, and shoot it upwards into the tunnel you came from.

If done correctly, the arrow should despawn mid flight, leaving the materials hanging in mid air. Just go over to them to make them fall to the ground, and collect them afterwards to get as many copies of that material as arrows shot using the bow.

Notes
  • It's possible to destroy materials if you hit them in mid air, since they still have collision in this state. So it's best to collect gems, bomb flowers, etc after every shot.
  • This is very similar to an arrow duplication glitch in Breath of the Wild, where shooting an object with a multishot bow would let you collect the other 2-4 arrows, despite only firing one.

Memory-related glitches

In both Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, watching a memory causes the game to advance by 1 frame, despite being in a pause screen. This causes things in the overworld to perform actions: Enemies moving and/or attacking, NPCs moving around, etc. Certain actions like cutscene, triggers and Link taking damage are disabled since such events should not occur during a pause screen.

Cave Weather Amnesia

This glitch has not been patched.
Cave Weather Amnesia
Effect
Disables area specific weather in caves
Requirements
None
Instructions
Go to any cave and watch a memory. The cave will revert to the temperature of the surrounding area. This can be useful in Eldin due to it disabling the Scorching Climate effect, but in Hebra it'll make the cave as cold as the surrounding area instead.
Notes
  • If the temperature of a scorching hot cave is reset, things like Bomb Arrows can be used safely.
  • Opening a chest, collecting a new item or doing anything that displays a text box will disable the glitch, though it can be easily activated again by watching another memory.

Cutscene Combo Amplification

This glitch has not been patched.
Cutscene Combo Amplification
Effect
Lets Link kill any enemy or boss in one hit
Requirements
At least one weapon or bow with at least one arrow, plus a memory
Instructions
Go to the enemy you want to defeat, and swing your weapon. Pause just before it hits, and enter the menu. If you can't drop the equipped weapon and there's no hit flash effect on screen, your timing was correct.

Then, take the enemy's HP, and divide it by the number of damage your weapon does, taking into account any bonuses added by food or armour, if there's a decimal, round up.

Watch that many memories and unpause, and the enemy should drop dead the second Link exits the menu. Each time the memory is being watch, a damage is registered to the enemy.

The same can be done with a bow and arrow by shooting an arrow at an enemy, pausing right before it hits and watching the relevant number of memories. This will let Link defeat almost anything with a single arrow, provided he watches another memories in the process.

Notes
  • Dungeon bosses require two uses of this glitch, since they can only lose up to 50% of their max HP when hit with an attack (a phase trigger).
  • This cannot be used against the final boss or the endgame boss rush at Gloom's Origin, since it's impossible to watch memories at that point.

Wear Any Outfit in Gerudo Town

This glitch has not been patched.
Wear Any Outfit in Gerudo Town
Effect
Lets Link go topless or wear the Yiga Clan Set in Gerudo Town.
Requirements
At least 1 memory
Instructions
Go to Gerudo Town, and pause the game. Equip an armour that would usually get Link arrested, and without unpausing, watch a memory. Equip an allowed outfit again and unpause. Now you can wear whatever you like without being thrown in jail.
Notes
  • Reloading a save will disable the glitch
  • The guards at the entrances will still detect and throw Link out if shirtless or jailed him when wearing the yiga armor

Miscellaneous glitches

Auto Camera Zoom In

This glitch has not been patched.
Auto Camera Zoom
Effect
Causes the camera to zoom towards Link from another part of Hyrule, giving you drone like footage
Requirements
Ascend, the Scope feature and at least one save
Instructions
Save, then place a pin down where you want the camera to start from. Go over there, and prepare to use Ascend. Once Link looks up at the sky, reload your save.

The camera will start off where you used Ascend, and zoom in on Link's current location, as if captured by a drone.

Notes
  • Using Recall slows down the camera when it moves towards Link, while using Ultrahand lets you change the camera angle.

Zonai Storage

This glitch has been patched.
Zonai Storage
Effect
Lets you take Zonai tech into shrines
Requirements
Instructions
Open the menu, and select the item you want to carry in. Press A and B at the same time (perform right after "Take out Device" and "Cancel" options appear), exit the menu, then enter the shrine. Once there, you can go into the pause menu and and notice that the list of items will appear. Press A to drop the Zonai tech you had stored.
Notes
  • This only works in version 1.0 (the launch version of the game)

Fence Overload

This glitch has been patched.
Fence Overload
Effect
Lets you overload the game with Construct Factory fences.
Requirements
An Autobuild contraption with at least one fence from a Zonai Factory depot.
Instructions
Use Autobuild to create the contraption, and repeat the process over and over again. Eventually (at a few hundred fences), the game will start to break, with effects like the music cutting out, sound effects not working, animations for elemental attacks freezing or not playing out at all, etc. Depending on the area, this can also crash the game altogether, or lead to Link ending up in the title screen room when a save is reloaded.
Notes
  • If this glitch is done outside of a mini game or the final boss battle, the game will remove the fences with a Panic Blood Moon once about a hundred have been loaded in.
  • The effects vary based on the area, with the game crashing more quickly in mini games or while building Link's House than during the final battle.
  • In later versions, the game will remove extra fences like it would other Autobuild items, preventing the game from getting overloaded.

New Item pickup Freeze damage glitch

This glitch has not been patched.
'
name=New Item pickup Freeze damage glitch
Effect
Cases any enemy or bosses in Link's attacking range to register taking a hit each frame while a popup appears.
Requirements
Have an enemy and an unknown weapon placed next to each other
Instructions
Perform an attack using a 2-handed spin attack, on the frame the enemy or boss takes a hit, pick up the unknown weapon.

Sell Weapons, Shields, Bows and Key Items

This glitch has not been patched.
Sell Unsellable Items
Effect
Lets you sell things like weapons, shields and key items an infinite number of times
Requirements
No materials collected and hence no Materials tab in the inventory.
Instructions
Complete the Great Sky Island without collecting any materials, and offer to sell to a shopkeeper. You'll be able to choose items to sell from the last tab you unlocked, whether that be weapons, shields, bows or key items.
Notes
  • Because the game cannot remove the affected item from your inventory, you can sell anything outside of the Materials or Armour tab an infinite number of times, letting you reach the max rupee cap very quickly in the process.
  • This doesn't work with Zonai Devices, so if that's the last tab discovered, it'll choose the one you unlocked before it instead.

Play in 1st Person

This glitch has not been patched.
Play in 1st Person
Effect
Lets you easily experience the game in 1st person
Requirements
Mineru's Construct, at least one material
Instructions
Ride Mineru's Construct, and pause the game. Dismiss the Construct from the pause menu, and watch a memory. Hold an item, then watch another one. Unpause, and when you use the scope or camera, there'll be no UI and you'll be able to experience the game from Link's perspective.

Use 2 Handed Weapon/Spear Alongside a Shield

This glitch has not been patched.
Use 2-Handed Weapon/Spear + Shield
Effect
Lets you use any weapon along with a shield at the same time
Requirements
Instructions
Drop any 2-Handed weapon or spear. Then, hold ZL and press Y to attack without one equipped. Mid swing, press A to pick up the weapon you previously dropped. Now you'll be able to use any 2-handed weapon or spear alongside a shield until you press B to put said weapon away again.

Quick Smuggling

This glitch has been patched.
Quick Smuggling
Effect
Lets you use shields an infinite number of times without them being visibly equipped
Requirements
Instructions
Stand with your back to a wall. Go into the menu, then drop the relevant (equipped) shield. Equip a new one. Drop that one too. You should get a message saying you can't take out this item here. Voila, you can now use your invisible shield for shield surfing or bouncing around.
Notes
  • If Link bounces too high, he'll still take fall damage, despite being able to surf as usual upon landing.
  • You can also do this with bows and weapons, but that won't do anything useful.

Ascend Out of Bounds in Southern Mine

This glitch has not been patched.
Ascend Out of Bounds in Southern Mine
Effect
Lets you get out of bounds in the Southern Mine
Requirements
Instructions
Go to the cave in the Southern Mine, and follow it around until you get to a passageway with a treasure chest at the end of a mine cart track. Stand next to the chest, and Ascend. If done right, you'll end up out of bounds on the roof of the tunnel.

Awakened Master Sword

This glitch has not been patched.
Awakened Master Sword
Effect
Gives Link an unbreakable Master Sword that does 30 more damage.
Requirements
None
Instructions
Continue the 'Crisis in Hyrule Castle' quest that has Link travelling round the dungeon before the Phantom Ganon fight. There, set up the GAS glitch so the respawn point is in the Sanctum, and clear out the castle so the trigger for the Phantom Ganon fight appears there while GAS is active. Go to the Sand Seal plushie collecting mini game near Nabi Lake, and play the mini game. Void out by drowning to respawn in the Sanctum and start the battle. You'll get asked if you want to quit the mini game, so do so, and you'll be able to warp out of Hyrule Castle. You now have an unbreakable Master Sword.
Notes
  • Every time you open the game from the Switch home menu and load this file, you'll get placed back in the Sanctum. Reload the save to fix this.
  • Defeating Phantom Ganon in the Sanctum will end this glitch
  • If you go near the castle in this state, Phantom Ganon's boss health bar will appear and the battle music will start playing.
  • By going really near the Sanctum, you can lure Phantom Ganon out of said area, and take him anywhere you like in Hyrule.

Final Boss Escape

This glitch has not been patched.
Final Boss Escape
Effect
Escape the Demon Dragon fight
Requirements
None
Instructions
Place down some Hover Stones above where Zelda falls in the ending while in the Demon Dragon battle. Attach some batteries to them so they stay airborne, and some dragon parts to keep them loaded in. Now, when the falling sequence occurs, have Link land on the platform you built. From here you can escape by using other glitches to reach a nearby Sky Island and play a mini game, which then activates warping.
Notes
  • In this state, the Light Dragon will try to follow Link, even on the ground
  • If Link hits the platform without a fairy, he can die in the ending.

Invincible Boss

This glitch has not been patched.
Invincible Boss
Effect
Makes Queen Gibdo invincible
Requirements
None
Instructions
Use CCA against Queen Gibdo so she loses more than 50% of her health in one hit. When the second phase of the battle starts, she'll be immune to all attacks, including elemental ones.
Notes
  • This is similar to the invincible Ganon glitch in the last game, and happens for a similar reason (boss health bar overloads due to taking too much damage at once)
  • While this is only confirmed to work against Queen Gibdo, it might work on some other bosses too. Based on existing tests, it's confirmed not to happen against overworld bosses, Marbled Gohma or the Seized Construct.
