Gibo
Gibos are recurring Enemies in The Legend of Zelda series.[2] They are star-shaped creatures consisting of an outer body and an inner core. They occasionally separate from each other when they move. Link cannot harm the core nor the body when they are together, but they become vulnerable when separated. Hitting the core causes the Gibo to be defeated.
Characteristics
A Link to the Past
In A Link to the Past, Gibos appear in Thieves' Town. Their core separates from the inside of its body and move to a new location independently, while the body then follows. Both sections of the creature are able to cause damage, but the body is entirely invincible, providing protection to the vulnerable core. The Gibo is therefore only vulnerable when it attempts to move.
A Link Between Worlds
In A Link Between Worlds, Gibos appear in Turtle Rock. They are nearly identical to their A Link to the Past appearance. However, instead of the core moving first, the body does it first, with the core then following. Their appearance resembles a gel-like substance rather than a gaseous cloud.
