Yona is a character in Tears of the Kingdom.[9]
Biography
Yona is a childhood friend of Sidon who comes from a different Zora settlement than Zora's Domain.[5] She is Sidon's fiancée.[6]
Nomenclature
Following the pattern of Zora characters in Breath of the Wild, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity and Tears of the Kingdom being named after musical concepts, Yona's name is derived from one of the Japanese pentatonic scale "四七抜き音階" (musical scale without the fourth note and the seventh note).
Yona's musical theme uses the scale in the same way that Mipha's Theme and Sidon's Theme use the notes they are respectively named after.
Yona is also unique in that her name above dialogue boxes displays as "???" until she formally introduces herself. Most characters display their names as soon as Link speaks to them even if they have not yet introduced themselves (or more commonly do not at all), or in rare occasions lack a name tag entirely.
