Official Art of Talo
Talo is one of the children of Ordon Village and the son of Jaggle and Pergie. He is Malo's older brother.[1] He looks up to Link and admires his prowess with weapons.[2][3][4] He is quite immature and is often mean to Colin.[5][6] He is always looking for trouble and is eager to wield weapons.[7][8]
Early on in the game, he is captured while chasing a Monkey and taken to the Forest Temple,[9] where he and the Monkey, who he decides is "actually a pretty nice gal," are rescued by Link.[10]
Later he, Colin, Beth, and Malo are taken by Bulbins and left to die, but Renado finds them and brings them to Kakariko Village.[11] Talo believes Link will save them and is pleased to see him when he finally arrives.[12] Later in the game, he respects Colin much more for saving Beth,[13] and takes the responsibility of keeping watch over Kakariko Village.[14] If Link comes into town in Wolf form he will scream for everyone to head for safety.[15]
At the end of the game Talo, Malo, Beth, Ilia, Colin, and Link return to Ordon Village together.
Trivia
- Talo's name might be a reference to Talon, along with his brother's name Malo which might be a reference to Malon, two recurring characters in the Zelda series.
- Talo share similarities with Joel from The Wind Waker and The Minish Cap. Both have a little brother (Malo and Zill respectively), live in the hero's hometown (Ordon Village and Outset Island respectively), and are often seen holding a stick.
