The Sand-Seal Race is a Mini-Game in Breath of the Wild.[3]

Location and Rules

The Sand-Seal Race can be found in the Sand-Seal Rally just south of the Gerudo Town. It becomes available once Link frees the Divine Beast Vah Naboris.[4] Link can enter the Sand-Seal Race by speaking to Shabonne, who introduces him to Sand-Seal Racing and Tali. A Stone Sphere Socket can be found next to Shabonne and Tali, as well as an Ancient Orb known as the Grand Trophy.

To complete "The Undefeated Champ" Shrine Quest, Link must beat Tali's record of 1:30 to win the Grand Trophy.[5] If Link succeeds, he will be rewarded with the Ancient Orb, and can use it to reveal the Raqa Zunzo Shrine, and the Shrine Quest will end after he receives it. [6][7] After completing the Shrine Quest, Link can try to beat his own record for 100 Rupees.[8] If Link succeeds, he will earn a Gold Rupee.[9]

During the race, Link must ride a Sand Seal through a course following a series of marked arches. There are seven of these arches between the starting and finishing arch, and for Link to finish the race he must pass through all of them. If Link gets off his Shield or leaves the course bounds, he will be disqualified.[10] Hitting an obstacle head-on with the Sand Seal, such as a rock in the sand, will cause Link to fall off of his Shield.
