Riverside Stable is a recurring location in The Legend of Zelda series.[1][2]

Features and Overview

Breath of the Wild

Riverside Stable is a Stable located along the Hylia River in Hyrule Field. It is operated by Ember, who manages the Stable's Horse-boarding services as well as its Inn.[3][4] Inside, Link can find a poster depicting a Recipe for Crab Stir-Fry. The Stable also features a short Dock with a Raft tied to its end. At the rear of the Stable are two small fenced off islands that act as pens for the resident Highland Sheep and Cuccos.

The travelers Endai, Kazul, and Spoone all stop at Riverside Stable as part of their journeys. If Link saves Leekah at Horwell Bridge, she will flee to Riverside Stable for safety.[5][6] While traveling back to Korok Forest, Hestu visits Riverside Stable, having gotten lost.[7] After upgrading Link's Inventory four times, he will remember the way and depart from the Stable.[8] Lastly, during the "Captured Memories" Main Quest, Pikango can be found at Riverside Stable, where he is painting the view of Death Mountain. When spoken to, he is able to identify the site of the second Picture in Link's Album, which is Lake Kolomo.[9]

When staying at Riverside Stable, Link can choose to rest in either a regular Bed for 20 Rupees or a soft Bed for 40 Rupees.[10] Ember explains that the soft Bed leaves its users feeling more energized when they wake up.[11] If Link decides to stay at the Stable, Ember offers to wake him up in the morning, at noon, or in the evening.[12] Once Link makes his choice, Ember will send him off to sleep.[13][14] When Link wakes up, Ember will greet him.[15][16][17] By sleeping in the soft Bed}, Link will receive a bonus Heart when he wakes up.

As part of the "A Royal Recipe" Side Quest, Gotter, a worker at Riverside Stable, asks Link to share with him Recipes from the Castle Library Books if he ever finds them.[18] When Link makes either a Fruitcake or a Monster Cake for Gotter, he will try them immediately.[19][20] He then rewards Link with a Silver Rupee.[21]

Parcy, a resident of Riverside Stable, will recount to Link that she once plundered Hyrule Castle in search of pieces of the Royal Guard's Series, though she was unable to find any.[22] During "The Royal Guard's Gear" Side Quest, Link must bring a piece to Parcy, who gives him a Gold Rupee as a reward.[23]

When The Champions' Ballad Downloadable Content Pack is active, a copy of the Super Rumor Mill V4 appears on the table inside Riverside Stable. As part of the "EX Royal Guard Rumors" Side Quest, Link is tasked with reading this Book to learn more about the location of the Royal Guard Set.[24] From the Super Rumor Mill V4, Link discovers the specific locations in Hyrule Castle that the individual Armor have been hidden.[25]
