One of the many people Link meets in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Malon is the daughter of the rancher Talon, who owns Lon Lon Ranch and is a wonderful singer. Malon is a sweet girl who, even as a child, takes care of duties at her father's ranch. Link first meets Malon in the Hyrule Castle Market and helps her find her father; his kindness is not forgotten and she helps her "fairy boy," as she calls him, learn Epona's song.
Seven years later, when Link returns to the ranch, he is able to claim the horse Epona for his own, and in doing so, breaks the spell that Ingo, the other worker on the ranch, had been under. Malon remembers Link and allows him to race around the ranch to compete against her best time. When he's able to beat her score, she rewards him with one of the famous Lon Lon cows.
Malon made a cameo in The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap. Talon and she are locked out of their house, but Link can help them by using Ezlo's power to go into the house and find the key.
