The Light World, or the World of Light, was created by the Golden Goddesses Din, Farore, and Nayru as a parallel dimension to the Sacred Realm. Its landscape is often similar to other parallel dimensions such as the Dark World, however the Light World is often "lighter" and more peaceful than these other lands.
The Light World, or World of Light, is the setting of the vast majority of the Zelda series, first refered to by this name in ALTTP. Though this term is most often used to refer to the kingdom of Hyrule, it also includes countries such as Labrynna, Holodrum, the regions in The Sky, and, hypothetically, Termina.

The term "Light World" is used to describe all lands opposite of the Dark World, Twilight Realm, and Silent Realms. The name "Light World" applies to lands such as Hyrule, Holodrum, Labrynna, and Skyloft. As its name suggests, it is a land that is covered in light and beauty, as opposed to the Dark World, which is cloaked in shadow, or Twilight Realm, which is bathed in the light of eternal twilight.  The Light World's name was created in ALTTP as an obvious opposite to the Dark World.

These three goddesses then shaped the world, set down the laws required to keep it going, and produced the life forms who would inhabit it. As its name suggests, it is a land that is covered in light; in TP, it is revealed that this light is at least partially derived from the blessing of four spirits that live in and protect Hyrule. This is the most notable difference between the Light World and places such as the Twilight Realm (which is covered in a perpetual veil of Twilight, hence its name) and the Dark World (which corrupts nearly all those who enter it without protection).

The Light World is often populated by several peaceful races, such as Gorons, Zoras, Deku and other various tribes. They often live under the rule of the Royal Family of Hyrule, though many races have adopted smaller forms of communal government.

Even though the Light World is visited or at least mentioned more than once in each game, the phrase "Light World" is seldom used as there is not always a parallel world to Hyrule, therefore making it unnecessary to call Hyrule the "Light World".

Features

The Light World, or World of Light, is the setting of the vast majority of the Zelda series, first refered to by this name in Template:ALTTP. Though this term is most often used to refer to the kingdom of Hyrule, it also includes countries such as Labrynna, Holodrum, the regions in The Sky, and, hypothetically, Termina.

The Light World was created by the Golden Goddesses Din, Nayru, and Farore, and was apparently created in tandem with a parallel dimension known as the Sacred Realm. These three goddesses then shaped the world, set down the laws required to keep it going, and produced the life forms who would inhabit it. As its name suggests, it is a land that is covered in light; in Twilight Princess, it is revealed that this light is at least partially derived from the blessing of four spirits that live in and protect Hyrule. This is the most notable difference between the Light World and places such as the Twilight Realm (which is covered in a perpetual veil of Twilight, hence its name) and the Dark World (which corrupts nearly all those who enter it without protection).

The Light World is populated by several peaceful races, such as Gorons, Zoras, Deku and the other various tribes, and is made up of multiple continents and regions, though Hyrule more often than not serves as the focal point of the realm.
