The Kokiri Forest,(OoT)[1] also known as the Deep Forest,(OoT)[2] is a recurring location in The Legend of Zelda series.[name references needed]
Features and Overview
Ocarina of Time
The Kokiri Forest is located on the eastern section of Hyrule within the Lost Woods, with Hyrule Field to the west and Zora's Fountain to the north. It serves as the home of the Kokiri tribe as well as its guardian spirit, the Great Deku Tree.[3] The Kokiri Forest is known to be the source of life, maintaining the order of the world and deterring outsiders from ever entering the so-called forbidden forest.[4][5] The Forest serves as Link's hometown.

- One aspect that makes the Kokiri Forest (as well as the Lost Woods) unique is the strange particles that float in the air. If Link stays still for a certain length of time, these particles will join together in a single file and move through the air in a fashion similar to Moldorm. When Link moves, however, they burst into individual particles again.
- Every time Link successfully hops across the slabs in the pond by the shop or across the islets near the Twins' house, he will gain 5 Rupees.
- If Link chops down the sign near the pond while facing the water, the sign fragments will fall into the water, making a splashing sound, and float. This behavior received special mention in an interview, and is likely an Easter Egg, as to program the splashing and floating, the developers would have had to take extra time to program.
- The Kokiri Forest exists as the Faron Woods in Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword,[8] and as the Forest Haven in The Wind Waker.[9]
