Biography

Ocarina of Time

Link first encounters the Deku Tree Sprout after awakening Saria as the Forest Sage. Upon landing safely in front of the remains of the Deku Tree in the Great Deku Tree's Meadow, Link will be thrown back by the Deku Tree Sprout rising from the ground. The Deku Tree Sprout thanks Link for breaking the Forest Temple's curse and excitedly informs him that as his fellow Kokiri evidently have not matured alongside him, he is not of their kind and is in fact a Hylian.[2][3] The Deku Tree Sprout elaborates that Link's Mother fled from the Hyrulean Civil War with her infant child into the Kokiri Forest seeking asylum. Seeing that the woman was mortally wounded and sensing that the boy was fated to change the world, the Deku Tree agreed to take the child in and raise him as a Kokiri.[4] Having revealed the details to Link's destiny, the Deku Tree Sprout urges the Hero of Time to free the remaining Sages to bring peace to Hyrule once more.[5]

The Wind Waker

The grown-up Deku Tree Sprout reappears as the Great Deku Tree of The Wind Waker.[6]

Lana is also capable of summoning three at a time with her sixth strong attack in her standard attack string. Her Focus Spirit Special allows her to summon a Deku Tree Sprout and ride it. As it rushes forward, she will thrust it in the direction she's facing.
