"EX Royal Guard Rumors" is a Side Quest in Breath of the Wild.[1] It is exclusive to The Champions' Ballad DLC Pack.

Overview

The Quest is obtained upon reaching Hyrule Kingdom and loading the overworld of Hyrule, which can be done by Traveling, reloading a save file, dying, or leaving an Ancient Shrine. When the Quest is activated, Link will be tasked with finding a copy of Super Rumor Mill, which is apparently in Riverside Stable. In the book, Traysi discusses the Royal Guard and hearsay that their Armor can still be found in Hyrule Castle, reporting on rumors from a former maid of treasure within the Castle.[2] It is possible to activate the second stage of the Quest by reading Super Rumor Mill V4 without triggering any of the loading conditions for the Quest's activation. The Treasure Chest containing the Royal Guard Cap is on the second floor of the Sanctum, in the room directly above where Zelda has sealed Calamity Ganon, in front of a statue of a knight. The Royal Guard Uniform can be found in a Treasure Chest behind a Royal Guard's Sword in a small chamber hidden behind a Cracked Tile west of the Dining Hall. The Treasure Chest containing the Royal Guard Boots is in the Guards' Chamber on a wooden platform in between two other wooden platforms with Bomb Barrels. The Quest is completed once all three pieces of the Royal Guard Uniform have been obtained.

You fine folks keep up with dream rumors too, don't you? Well, this one's so good it might as well be a dream. Listen up, history buffs! This tidbit is about the brave soldiers who were tragically wiped out during the Great Calamity. The royal guards who protected the royal family! Amongst Hyrule's soldiers, only the best of the best had the honor of guarding the royal family. Apparently, the equipment they wore can still be found somewhere in Hyrule Castle. They say a former maid spoke of treasure near the Dining Hall, in the Guards' Chamber, and on the second floor. I do hope one day Hyrule Castle is restored to its former glory, complete with royal guards. Hmm... I wonder when a royal guard in shining armor will come sweep me off MY feet...
