Bannan Island
Bannan Island is an island found in the northwestern portion of the Sea Chart in Phantom Hourglass.
Features
Bannan Island is split into two parts by a long cavern that runs the length of the island: the island's left side is home to the Old Wayfarer, and the right is base to Salvatore, who will let Link play the Cannon Game.
The Old Wayfarer, who lives in the only house on the island, says he desires to see a mermaid upon speaking to Link. After defeating all the enemies on the island, a mermaid reveals herself in the water. If Link hits her with his Boomerang, she will scold him, revealing that she is not a true mermaid but instead a human named Joanne. After Link tells her about the Old Wayfarer, she decides to live with him. For uniting the two, Link receives a Fishing Rod from the Old Wayfarer. From there, other sidequests can be started or finished.
In regards of Salvatore, his minigame runs a large portion of the open sea, in which Link and Linebeck travel with the S.S. Linebeck as they shoot the targets. North from the minigame's hub is a handful of portions of land that can only be accessed with the Grappling Hook, and which house several treasures.
