Template:Quest EX Champion Revali's Song is a Main Quest in Breath of the Wild. It is part of The Champions' Ballad DLC Pack.[1]

Overview

Link can begin the Quest after finishing the trials of the Great Plateau during the Main Quest, "EX The Champions' Ballad". At this point, the One-Hit Obliterator will split into four glowing orbs and scatter to different areas of Hyrule, revealing four Ancient structures called Monuments. One of the Monuments appears near Strock Lake on Cuho Mountain south of Divine Beast Vah Medoh. As Link approaches the Monument, a voice belonging to an unspecified Monk speaks to him and instructs him to complete the Trials that he must face ahead.[2] Three maps then emerge on the Monument's pillars, each revealing the location of a Trial that Link must undergo. Kass, who is standing nearby, then notices Link and comments on the Monument as mentioned in his teacher's Unfinished Song.[3] Kass adds that there is a Verse in the song that mentions the Trials that the Rito Champion, Revali overcame,[4] and sings Link the Verse, which provides him with instructions for completing all three Trials.[5] Kass then remarks that he hopes to complete the unfinished Key Verses of the song through his travels.[6][7]

Link may complete the Trials in any order. The first Trial tasks Link with shooting Dinraal's horn as it flies over Tanagar Canyon, revealing Shira Gomar Shrine. The second Trial involves Shield Surfing through blue rings starting close to Hebra Peak and leading down to Pikida Stonegrove, unearthing Kiah Toza Shrine when Link passes through the final ring. The third Trial has Link shoot four targets in quick succession at the Flight Range, which causes Noe Rajee Shrine to rise up at the bottom of the chasm. Each of these Ancient Shrines rewards Link with a Medoh's Emblem upon their completion.[8] After completing all three Shrines, the Monk of the third Shrine he completes will instruct him to go to Divine Beast Vah Medoh.[9]

As Link approaches the Divine Beast, he is spoken to again by an unspecified Monk, who gives him a Trial in exchange for three Medoh's Emblems.[10] Link is then transported to the Illusory Realm, a realm created by his memories, where he once again battles Windblight Ganon atop Medoh, but with a specific equipment set.[11] Link begins the fight equipped with a Feathered Edge, a Falcon Bow, 100 Arrows, and the Snowquill Set, with each piece of Armor being upgraded by a Great Fairy twice. He also has five Bomb Arrows, a Duplex Bow, a Phrenic Bow, a Wildberry, an Endura Shroom, and a Raw Bird Drumstick in his Inventory. This Windblight Ganon is a phantasm born from Link's memories and fears.[12] After defeating the phantasm, Link is transported back and finds Kass nearby. Kass informs him that learning about Revali's tales has inspired him to write a Song to honor Revali in Kass's own way,[13] and sings the composition, entitled "Champion Revali's Song",[14] to Link.[15] The Song allows Link to visualize the Champion Revali's Song Recovered Memory from 100 years ago,[14] which shows Princess Zelda seeking Revali at the Flight Range to request assistance in defeating Calamity Ganon. Revali then speaks to Link in spirit and congratulates him for completing the Trials, telling him that Revali's Gale will more efficient.[16] The ability is upgraded to Revali's Gale +, which reduces the ability's recharge time to two minutes, and the Quest is completed.
