Revision as of 14:36, 5 November 2007

Here users can nominate for ZW.org's next featured article. Any article worthy of being featured exemplifies the Wiki's quality standards, and goes above and beyond what is expected in a normal encyclopedia entry. In addition, it is particularly fluid in its language style and explanation of its subject. Featured articles should:

  • Have exceptionally fluid American English grammar and spelling.
  • Be lengthy, yet detailed.
  • Be well organized (as in subdivisions).
  • Cite sources, and cite them properly.
  • Be properly categorized.
  • Contain the most up-to-date information possible.
  • Have no template requesting improvement, merging, deletion, or any template that may in some way state the article is not of excellent quality. In this respect, there should be no duplicate of the nominated article or should the article be a duplicate of another page.
  • NOT be copied from Wikipedia or any site that does not run the Wiki, under any circumstances!

An article needs TEN VOTES in its favor WITH REASONING (or seconding) in order to be marked as featured. Please nominate articles below this passage in a new subtopic, with the article title as the subtopic's name. If you do not sign your opinion or second, your vote WILL NOT be counted!

SO PLEASE SIGN ALL VOTES/SECONDS BY ADDING --~~~~

Currently Nominated

Moblin

Now that this article has had an extensive rewrite, I'd say it's of a standard worthy of being featured. --Adam 14:19, 16 October 2007 (EDT)

  • It's a good article, but the Minish Cap section is too bare-bones for me to vote for it. --Hisak 20:04, 16 October 2007 (EDT)
  • I think this simple monster, not one that has a lot to write about, but basics. That article only has this kind of things. Also, the Great Moblin is a boss and it should have its own page. --ZS09

OK, well I nominated it based on Jason's comments on the talk page; since the revision he was talking about, it seems to have had all the necessary improvements. I agree that the Minish Cap section needs more than just the quotes, I'll see what I can do. But I'm not sure if the Great Moblin should be given it's own page as a boss (bearing in mind I haven't played the Oracle games, but from the text in the article it seems he doesn't fight Link like a regular boss). --Adam 02:36, 17 October 2007 (EDT)

  1. Less discombobulated than "Dark Link". SeanMD80 21:17, 18 October 2007 (EDT)
  2. I agree with Sean I guess I'll vote for this one.--Green 01:41, 19 October 2007 (EDT)

Link

Link is... well, if you don't know who Link is or why he's so important, what are you even doing here? This is a really high-quality article. --Adam 01:36, 5 November 2007 (EST) I concur. It's one of the most thorough, well-researched and well-put-together articles out there. Dinosaur bob 09:36, 5 November 2007 (EST)

Previously Featured Articles

Stalfos (July 7, 2007)

I'm incredibly sorry that this data was lost. There are, so far, three votes for this article, but my memory only serves to remember two of them: Hisak and Adamcox82. However, I do know there was one last vote - Zebra something I believe? You all have no need to vote again. Once more, I'm sorry that this was deleted! --Jase 12:33, 3 June 2007 (PDT)

Now that all the votes have been properly signed, I make that 10 votes. Stafos is now the first user-nominated featured article on ZW.org! --Adamcox82 01:20, 7 July 2007 (PDT)
  • I did NOT support this article. I said I would once the Four Swords sections were added. Hisak 13:38, 5 June 2007 (PDT)
  • The article now has a section for every game. For the record, my original nomination was on the grounds that the Stalfos has featured in every (?) Zelda game to date, and currently broadly fills all of the main requisites above. --Adamcox82 14:01, 5 June 2007 (PDT)
  • I agree that we should have Stalfos as the featured article --DarkTriforce99 18:03, 5 June 2007 (PDT)
  • Now that all games are covered, I support this article for Featured Article. Hisak 17:18, 5 June 2007 (PDT)
  • I Support Stalfos as a featured article if the pictures are aligned a little neater. SeanMD80 17:51, 7 June 2007 (PDT)
I would rearrange the images, but I now have a weird screen resolution (1440 x 900) after upgrading to a widescreen TFT! I guess the images will display in a different place depending on the resolution the page is viewed at (hence the page width). What could be taken as the most common? 1024x768, 1280x1024? --Adamcox82 13:38, 13 June 2007 (PDT)
  • Pretty flippin' good article! With a bit more information, maybe about other other games I would fully support it! I support it. 42bens 21:27, 13 June 2007 (PDT)
  • i agree with this and its been too long since that main page has got a picture lom678
  • this is a great article of one of the best enemies in the world of zelda and i also support it. twilightinthedark
  • This was one of my favorite enemies in Twilight Princess. I also support this Featured Artical! --74.79.59.143 18:05, 6 July 2007 (PDT)
  • This is a great article and it should be displayed and i think the stalfos are great commen enemies with the power of lower minibosses: victorygreymon
  • Stalfos are older than the Legend of Zelda itself (well not technically) and I'm pretty sure they've appeared in every Zelda game to date I don't think even the Octorock has managed that. --86.7.92.20 16:53, 1 November 2007 (EDT)

ZeldaInformer (August 1, 2007)

Zelda Informer, a promising new Zelda site that was released this monday (16.7.07). The project is organized by a group of ex-Zelda Universe members that eventually grew tired of ZU and decided to create a better site. The site content will be produced almost entirely by a group of Zelda theorists, originally formed over at Zelda Universe, called The Bombers. --Uncle Meat 7:20, 17 July 2007 (PDT)

  1. Having made some considerable edits to it, as well as it being the very first site listed on the Zelda Wiki to use the brand spanking new Infobox Website template, I'd like to throw my support behind this article. --Captain Cornflake 19:52, 17 July 2007 (PDT)
  2. The article gets my support, the guys over at ZI know what they're talking about, more so than any other group I've had the pleasure of knowing. Experience is priceless, and they have plenty of it.--Darknut King 20:20, 19 July 2007
  3. Ever expanding, the actual article itself is well written and concise and gives a valued look towards the website.--Yami 25:53 GMT, 19 July 2007
  4. ZI is a great site with a great community, so this article gets my support. --PyroMyrmidon 22:21 CDT, 19 July 2007
  5. Just starting out, this needs all of the exposure it can get so it can grow into a nice little community --Mirror Image 00:26 EST 20 July 2007
  6. It has the makings of a great site, but it does need all the exposure it can get--TheManInTheMoon 19:05, 20 July 2007 (PDT)
  7. ZI has gone quite a bit since it's launch, and the article is great. It gets my vote. --Vaati 09:40, 29 July 2007 (PDT)
  8. Best Zelda community that is being administrated by a very professional and respectful team. --the_Predator 18:49, 29 July 2007 (GMT 1)
  9. Best The Zelda News Magnum Opus --Leminnes 16:25, 29 July 2007 (EDT)
  10. one of the best articles about a differnt ite no opinions all facts. Victorywargreymon
  11. The more users the better for this site, and like others have said, it needs all the exposure it can get. I've only been at the site for a little while, and I've already had some great discussions. --Nick722 19:48, 29 July 2007 (PDT).

Lake Hylia (October 2, 2007)

Given that the article has recently been greatly extended, and that Lake Hylia is a frequently recurring location in many games in the series, I think it may be time that a place/location became our featured article. --Adamcox82 12:15, 14 July 2007 (PDT)

  1. I support this one quite throughly since I I know how much work has gone into finding many of the images. Additionally I feel it is a prime example of the work that can be done even on an article about a place. 42bens 14:36, 14 July 2007 (PDT)
  2. I agree with others by supporting this article. It has indeed gone through alot of improvements to prove that it could qualify as a featured article. --Twilightinthedark 5:30, 14 July 2007 (EDT)
  3. I agree this should be the next featured article. --Zebazebra 08:21, 20 July 2007 (PDT)
  4. In my opinion, I would perfer Lake Hylia as a featured article becuase it's interesting to see the evolution of Lake Hylia in the past games and this article really does explain it.-- cosmo.vnz 12:20, 21 July (PDT)
  5. It's a good article, but the Twilight Princess section is too text-heavy and the Ocarina of Time picture looks really ugly on the page. Either way, it's the best candidate.Hisak 14:59, 31 July 2007 (PDT)
  6. I support this artical and agree it should be featured next. This is one of my favorite places within the Zelda series, and it's artical page looks great.--PrincessZelda TP 20:02, 8 August 2007 (PDT)
  7. I think its a cool article and it would be awesome as the first one people saw Victorygreymon
  8. This lake has appeared in many Zelda games and has changed a lot since A Link to the Past, I agree that this article should be featured next.--Twilight_Shadow 18:57, 1 October 2007 (PDT)

In the interest of time, I'm going to say that next vote wins (in Lake Hylia vs. Zant). --Jase 06:55, 29 September 2007 (EDT)

...which means that Lake Hylia is our new featured article! (finally...) --Adam 18:41, 2 October 2007 (EDT)

Zant (October 16, 2007)

A somewhat more obvious choice, this article is extensive and detail-rich. And, love him or hate him, Zant makes for an un-deniably cool villain! --Adamcox82 12:15, 14 July 2007 (PDT)

  1. Defiantly shows the great amount of work of many users on the wiki. I support it, but it is a bit obvious. 42bens 14:25, 14 July 2007 (PDT)
  2. One of the coolest villians ever, so I support it. --Mr. Armageddon 13:45, 23 July 2007 (PDT)
  3. I support zant he is awesome!!!--lom678
  4. Zant's article is looking very nice. Now we just need to get Midna's up to speed. --Jase 06:27, 5 August 2007 (PDT)
  5. A much superior article at this time to Lake Hylia. SeanMD80 20:39, 22 August 2007 (PDT)
  6. Zant is one of the strangest, most original characters, I say he deserves a chance in the spotlight --Mockingbird 00:39, 20 September 2007 (EDT)
  7. Zant is the villain of the greatest Zelda game ever so he deserves to be in the main page-- Draonjioel 20:12, 26 September 2007 (PDT)
  8. Zant's battle had porbably the most variety as well as the most amount of items needed to beat him. The final stage with him was by far the best due to being a sword-to-sword fight. I too recommend this character as our next article. Twilightinthedark 10:39, October 4 2007 (EDT)
  9. Zant is cool, he has awesome powers and is completely crazy!!!-- Twilight_Shadow 12:13, October 5 2007 (PDT)
  10. Not a big Zant fan, but his article is very nice. Hisak 17:15, 9 October 2007 (EDT)

Dark Link (November 5, 2007)

This article of a secondary character is stock full of information the amount of which rivals most of the main character articles. It has information ranging from fan-theories to soundtrack themes and battle walkthroughs. Knil 22:40, 29 August 2007 (EDT)

  • Top of the page is really cluttered. Needs more work. --Hisak 23:39, 20 October 2007 (EDT)
  1. This is really a well-organized article that covers an important, but often overlooked character in the Zelda series. It explains all of the theories surrounding Dark Link, and explains as much of what we know about this very mysterious character. I definitely found this article to be an interesting read. Seraphim 13:15, 16 October 2007 (PDT)
  2. I always thought of Dark Link as a cool touch to the series. On his article page, I really like the details that were put in on his appearances within the series. I think the article page is quite up to par, and would like to see it on the main page as the next featured article! --PrincessZelda TP 19:56, 16 October 2007 (EDT)
  3. I agree. Dark Link deserves his time in the sun. The article covers nigh everything ever written or thought about Dark Link, so it's about as thorough as it's gonna get. An article that thorough deserves recognition. --Dinosaur bob 20:28, 16 October 2007 (EDT)
  4. I agree. --195.93.21.1 09:27, 20 October 2007 (EDT)

  7. Dark Link's history was always a mystery to me but thanks to this article me and my friends understand him more. I definitely nominate this. DarkCaptain3
