It is possible to change into Goron form immediately after shooting a fire arrow to unfreeze Goht. The player must simply press the button to which the Goron mask is equipped quickly after firing. The cutscene will play out with Link as a Goron, and he will even make the correct sound for the Goron form. This can also be done with Fierce Deity, Deku, and Zora forms. It is mostly useless, but it can allow the player to shave off an extra second that would have been spent transforming, a fact that may be useful in glitch-free speed runs.

Goht is revealed.

Masked Mechanical Monster: Goht (仮面機械獣ゴート, Masked Machine Beast: Gōto) is the second boss in The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, located in the Snowhead Temple. He is a giant mechanical bull who is, at the beginning of the boss battle, frozen in a giant block of ice. It is his influence and curse that is causing the abnormally cold winter at Snowhead, which in turn threatens the lives of the native Gorons living there. Goht must be defeated in order for Spring to come and life to be restored at Snowhead.

Strategy

Link will face him in a ring-shaped stage. To fight him, Link must shoot one of his Fire Arrows at him. He will thaw, come to life, explode out of his restraints, and start charging around the stadium-like room in an attempt to trample Link. Put on the Goron Mask and start to roll around the stadium and hit Goht with Goron Link's spikes. Conveniently enough, there are Magic Jars around the room so if Link needs more magic, simply roll through a jar to get some. Link may also knock Goht down if he jumps on him after going through one ramp. Goht will eventually regain his composure and get up, and when he does, start rolling again. When rolling around as Goron Link be careful as Goht will begin to kick up rocks at Link. Every time Link knocks him down, Goht will shoot a somewhat difficult to dodge ball of electricity that homes in on Link. After a few hits, stalactites will fall from the ceiling. When he is about to die, Goht will throw some bombs at Link. Watch out for a lightning blast that he will throw at Link if he gets too far from him; Link should try to avoid it at all costs. It will be obvious if he is being damaged if you see black smoke begin to pour out of him while he is running. When Goht is defeated, Link will see him crash headlong into a wall, causing a huge amount of rocks to fall on top of him. This allows Link to claim a Heart Container and what is left of Goht, Goht's Remains.

Though challenging, Link can also defeat Goht with arrows. He must run forward after the battle starts to a specific spot where Goht stands and fires lightning at you idly. This strategy isn't often used, though, since he will most likely hit you with lightning. It is also possible to fire arrows at him as he charges by the entrance to the arena, but this requires good reflexes and is quite tedious.
