Romani Ranch

Romani Ranch (ロマニー牧場, Romanii-bokujou) is a ranch located in Termina, famous for its extremely tasty Romani Milk. It is owned by Cremia, who lives with her younger sister, Romani. The ranch is home to several other people, sidequests, and items. Link be able to access the ranch before Day 3, though, unless he has a Powder Keg, as Skull Kid has placed a large boulder in front of the ranch entrance that must be picked away by one of the carpenters.

Romani

Younger sister to Cremia. She constantly refers to herself in third person, and calls Link "Grasshopper", probably due to his green clothing. She tries to defend the ranch from Them, but isn't able to do it herself, and Cremia doesn't believe that They exist.

Cremia

Main article: Romani and Cremia

Older sister to Romani. She more or less runs the ranch herself, and delivers all of the produced milk to vendors in Clock Town, primarily the Milk Bar. She's a smart girl, and well-rooted to reality, not believing Romani's warning about Them coming. Even she knows, though, that the Moon is about to fall.

Grog

Grog is the caretaker of the Cucco Shack. He loves the little cucco chicks and wants to see them grow to be adult cucco, but knows he won't be able to due to the Moon's impending crash.

Mamamu Yan

Mamamu Yan is a woman who loves dogs, and runs the Doggy Racetrack. She has the dogs race every now and then, and Link can bet on which one he thinks will win.

Them

Main article: Them

The identities of Them are never really talked about in the game. Regardless of who they are, They visit the ranch every year before The Carnival of Time to steal the ranch's cows.

Mama's House

The largest building on the ranch itself is the house of Cremia and her younger sister Romani, whom is named after the ranch. They inherited the ranch after both of their parents passed away, and with it came all of the ranch's livestock.

Barn

This is where Cremia keeps the livestock of the ranch, namely the ever-so-coveted cows. The cows are milked here daily, and a few rupees can be found in the hay in the corners.

Cucco Shack

The Cucco Shack is home to Grog, and is open from 6 am to 8 pm. The Cucco Shack has 10 little cucco chicks in it, as well as decorative cucco paintings on the walls. There are small wall-portions in the cucco yard, which seem to serve no beneficial purpose whatsoever.

Doggy Racetrack

The Doggy Racetrack is home to Mamamu Yan, and is open from 6 am to 8 pm. Link can come here to watch and bet on dog races. If the dog he chooses places 1st, he will win triple his bet. If the dog places second, he will win double the bet. For third to fifth places, he will break even. Any place lower wins nothing. The dog choice can be made easier if Link wears the Mask of Truth while lifting a dog. This will allow him to read the dog's mind to determine how the dog feels about the day's race. Winning more that 150 rupees will win Link a Piece of Heart.

The easiest way to get a winning dog is to use the Mask of Truth. If the dog says "Ruff!" it's one of the best dogs right now. If it says "Ruff ruff!", it will not place, but it won't lose. If it whines, it will lose. Even if the purple dog says "Ruff!", it shouldn't be picked, for it will always lose. However, another way is to watch the golden dog, and if it has a positive thought, use it in the race. After that, it should have a positive thought until Link leaves the area.

Important Items

• Epona must be re-obtained at the ranch after Link has beaten the Snowhead Temple. Romani will subject Link to a target test first, though.
• A Piece of Heart is won at the Doggy Racetrack by winning at least 150 rupees.
• The Bunny Hood is earned at the Cucco Shack from Grog.
• The Romani Mask is obtained at the entrance to Clock Town, but the quest to get it is started on the second day at the ranch.
• A Bottle is earned after defending the ranch from Them.

Trivia

• The arch at the entrance to Romani Ranch is the same arch from the entrance to Kakariko Village in Ocarina of Time, and did not have its text re-written; therefore, despite being located in Termina, the sign still reads (when translated from Japanese) "Welcome to Kakariko Village".
