The Big Octorok is really just an average Octorok, which Link fights while Minish-sized. He lies frozen within the main room of the Temple of Droplets, along with the Water Element. In order to acquire the element, Link needs to flip to two giant switches on either side of the room to open up a hatch on the ceiling, letting sunlight in. After the hatch is completely open, both the Water Element and the Big Octorok will thaw out. Before Link can claim the element, though, the Big Octorok sucks it up and retreats into the next room.

Like any other Octorok, the Big Octorok will attack by spitting rocks at Link, which he can knock back with his [[sword]] or [[shield]] to cause damage. The Big Octorok will also try to suck Link up on occasion, as well as ram the walls, causing rocks to fall from the ceiling.

After a few hits, The Big Octorok will freeze all of the water covering the floor, and the flower on his back will be vulnerable. By using the Pegasus Boots, Link can run around to the Big Octorok's backside and set the flower on fire with his Lantern. Repeating this process a few times will put an end to the Big Octorok, and Link will receive the third of the four Elements, the Water Element, along with another Heart Container.
